Closed-toe shoes are very much carrying over into summer this year. If you’re wondering why that is, you’d only have to look toward the weather channel to find out. With La Nina foreshadowing yet another summer of torrential showers, many Australians will find themselves opting for a sturdier pair over your regular warm-weather sandals. That’s right — best leave those slides behind and invest in a good pair of loafers, boots, or both this season.
We’re not complaining though, because closed-toe shoes are the most versatile of them all! They make the perfect corporate shoe, keeping you office-appropriate and stylish at the same time. One of our favourite Aussie footwear brands is absolutely killing it for closed-toe shoes right now. From trendy heels and ankle boots, to ballet flats and chunky platform styles, Sandler has a little something to suit every taste. Their designs are as high in quality as they are on-trend, made of durable leather fabrications with soft cushioned soles to see you through the day in comfort and style.

Recently, we collaborated with Sandler and picked out our favourite workwear styles to try out. Needless to say, we’ve been wearing these shoes day-in, day-out, from 9-5 right through to our evenings out in the city! Check out our four fabulous picks below:
Gianna Boot – $299.95
She’s chic, sleek and sophisticated. Gianna knows how to strut her stuff. Long boots have the be the staple shoe of wintertime, but we’ll be bringing them into the wet season with us, no doubt! This Gianna Boot is one of the comfiest pairs of shoes we actually own, with a block heel and ultra soft, plush interior that feels just like walking on clouds. The round toe and black hue keeps these boots versatile and timeless, so that you can style them for all kinds of occasions!
For a day at the office, we’d style this pair with a smart collared shirt and mini skirt, finishing with minimalist gold jewellery to tie our look together.
Gwenyth Heel – $199.95
An elegant addition to your footwear collection, the Gwenyth Heel is a desk-to-dinner favourite. The pointed toe is classy and feminine, while its slightly flared block heel offers a modern finish. We happen to have this style in both black and blush leather, we can’t get enough of it!
To draw attention in meetings, we’d style these pumps with a fitted midi dress and slicked-back ponytail. Major boss babe vibes.
Fancy Loafer – $219.95
Loafers are generally considered somewhat modest yet luxurious at the same time, perfect for an upstyled office look. The Fancy Loafer really ticks all the boxes here — it’s in the name, after all! Gold chain detailing adds a touch of glam alongside the patent croc leather, while a block heel elevates the pair to give you some commanding height. Extremely fancy.
We’ve been teaming these loafers with pretty much every workwear outfit in our wardrobes. Tailored trousers and a billowing blouse? Perfect. Sleeved top and a peplum pencil skirt? Striking. A comfortable wrap dress and blazer? Style on point.
Sawyer Loafer – $89.95
A style for the edgy woman. If you want to go for the chunky trend yet keep it workwear appropriate, the Sawyer Loafer is for you! This pair is giving us schoolteacher vibes in the very best way possible. They feature a super sturdy platform base with treading, making them as rain-proof as can be! Slipping on with ease, these loafers are bound to get some major airtime in your footwear rotation this season.
Go for geek-chic with a pair of white socks, a blazer dress and structured tote to carry all your 9-5 essentials.
