Summer is on it's way and it's finally starting to warm up! This means that it's time to get your feet ready to step out in style and comfort, and allow them to breathe in the warm, sunny weather. But before you kick back and enjoy the summer, it's crucial to ensure your feet are in their best shape.

Guide to Happy and Healthy Feet

Daily moisturiser application: Using a good moisturiser will help keep your skin soft and supple. Well-hydrated feet are less prone to dryness, cracking and calluses. We recommend using moisturisers with urea in them!

2. Sun protection: Applying sunscreeen on the tops of your feet will help protect your skin from sunburn, especially when we're going barefoot at the beach or wearing lightweight shoes and/0r sandals throughout the hotter months.

3. Footwear choices: Wearing open-toed shoes and sandals are crucial to survive these upcoming warmer months, but that doesn't mean you have to choose between comfort and support. Supportive sandals and shoes with good arch support can help prevent foot fatigue and discomfort. We recommend Archies footwear and also Birkenstock sandals for the hotter months! If you're planning to go for a run outside in the sunshine, it is also crucial to be wearing appropriate runners/sneakers.

4. Stay hydrated: Proper hydration is essential for your whole body, including your feet. Drinking enough water will help prevent your skin from drying out and also reduces the risk of developing foot cramps.

As the weather is getting much warmer, outdoor running definitely looks much more desirable. It is highly recommended that you wear proper footwear, such as sneakers and runners, when you're heading out for a jog to prevent any strain or injuries. Don't forget to always warm up and cool down after activity with dynamic and static stretching exercises. Pain is usually a good indication that you might be pushing your body too hard, so it's very important to listen to your body and rest when needed!
