This October I participated in Walk for Wellness with a bunch of Travel Professionals. I laced up my sneakers and got moving to raise money for mental health. When Muscle Backpack heard of my challenge they kindly donated a backpack to take on my hikes.

Bushwalking and hiking are some of my favourite things to do. Getting into nature and exploring Western Australia’s natural beauty is the best thing for my mental health!

When hiking I need a bag to take all my essential items. Muscle Backpack is not only suitable for the gym but perfect for travel and hiking. It is water resistant and has a 45-litre capacity which means there is plenty of space for all the snacks I need to pack with kids! There are two water bottle holders, and I can carry plenty of water to keep the troops hydrated.

There are lots of compartments which make it easy to store all your essential items. Everything is organised and easy to find plus there is also a section for your laptop. Having a laptop compartment is great for travel and the backpack also fits into the overhead locker on a plane.

My biggest consideration when buying a backpack is to make sure it is comfortable. With padded and adjustable straps, it ticks all the boxes.

You can personalise your Muscle Backpack with velcro patches and there are twenty patches to choose from. If you are interested in buying a Muscle Backpack click here and use the code Befree to get a 15% discount plus receive two complimentary patches.

I got off to a flying start with the Walk to Wellness challenge and squeezed in a walk whenever I could. My goal was to walk 100 kilometres for the month. According to my Garmin watch, I walked an average of 13 kilometres daily and clocked up 394 kilometres for the month. Not a bad effort to fit in all that walking plus working and wrangling kids.

Exercising regularly helped reduce my stress, and made me feel less anxious. I am in a good routine now. My day starts with a walk and sets me up for a positive day. The challenge provided me with a friendly little reminder to prioritise my physical and mental health.

Now what can be my new challenge?
