From pillowy slides to the perfect strappy leather sandal. The post The ‘RUSSH’ editors share the summer footwear they’re adding to their carts appeared first on RUSSH.
While the rate at which we go barefoot increases during summer, that doesn’t mean we forgo footwear entirely. Many of us enter the warmer months with a mission to hunt down the perfect summer sandal or shoe. Naturally, that looks different to everyone. From pillowy slides to the perfect, well-made leather sandal, find the shoes the RUSSH editors are adding to their carts this summer, below.

We all need a proper, sturdy pair of sandals come summer – or at least I do. For some reason my summer days always entail far more walking than I intend. I will be adding this A. Emery x Matteau pair to my collection. I actually already have them in brown but they’re so comfortable and well-made that I want them in black too before they sell out.
The other pair I have on the list are these slip-ons by Alias Mae. They’re delicate enough that I’ll be able to wear them instead of heels on balmy nights.

I have an incurable unknown illness that makes me a compulsive shoe-shopper. So naturally I have about 100 pairs on my watch list/wishlist at all times.
Fantasy shoes for summer include this pair of Bottega Veneta slingbacks that I feel would work so well with a white summer set, like these trousers and this top from Venroy. A little Gucci mule moment wouldn’t go astray either…
Once I’m done manifesting a different life for myself, I turn to tried and true brands like Charles and Keith for some fun summer footwear options like these sparkly heels to elevate my staple LBD from Miaou. And another pair of Birkenstock’s Arizona shoes wouldn’t go astray, this style being slightly elevated from the traditional silhouette to take me to casual dinners with ease.

I will be the first to admit that sandals are not my favourite shoes, however, there have definitely been a few styles lately that have caught my eye. I’m loving the puffy, ‘I’m walking on a pillow’ styles that are around at the moment including these from Marni and these Loewe, fun but everyday wear, Foam Slides.
For night I am in a loud luxury mood and have my eye on these ‘not so practical, but do I care?’ Burberry heels and these Jimmy Choo X Jean Paul Gaultier corset sling backs which I have dreamt about since a recent store visit.

I’m trading my winter boots in for a nice pair of kitten heels to go with my summer dresses. I do my weekly refresh on Sororite Vintage to see what new pieces they have. I’m currently waiting for the next drop to source a black pair of Chanel heels, or even a pair of Manolo Blahniks, definitely a more affordable idea. A nice pair of ballet flats would go nicely in summer too I think, I like to think of them as a cutesy pair of slides. Jacquemus never disappoints me, and they’ve done it again. Another piece of theirs I’m adding to the wishlist are these mary jane ballet flats. All are timeless shoes I think are worth investing in. A girl can dream.

I’m going to put it out there and admit that my feet are not my favourite asset, which makes summer shoes a tricky one for me. The key, I’ve found, is moving away from anything delicate and sticking with shoes that add interest to an outfit without drawing attention to my feet. It’s a fine line to walk (pun intended).
My picks for this year are a cute pair of mesh slippers like these ones from Alias Mae that I’ve had my eye on. Also very into the Maryam Nassir Zadeh Thelma Suede mary janes if you can get your hands on a pair. This Gianvito Rossi pair is a close second, as are these Vibi Venezia red velvet ones.
For beach days I’m opting for a chunky sandal like the Suicoke Kisee Po in either black or blue.

Why is shoe shopping so thrilling? After many bids and a couple of fake accounts, I bought these secondhand yet perfect condition vintage Prada platform flip flops from eBay. I will be trotting around in them all summer. When I’m not, a simple Havaianas Flip Flip will do.
I’ve been looking for a clog. Our Legacy do its Camion Mule in fun suede colours, and I like this style from Acne Studios. Also on the brain are these metallic pink ballet flats from Korean label OPEN YY.
