As we're nearing the end of another year (but seriously, where has it gone?), I thought it would be fun to share the standout beauty products for 2023 in my humble opinion. And full disclaimer: while some of these items may have been gifted throughout the year, many have not, however feel free to ask any questions or share thoughts & comments below!
HAIR
ROZ Santa Lucia Styling Oil + ROZ Milk Hair Serum: These two have changed the way I air-dry my hair. Between these products and Dianna Cohen's air-dry method (pre perm) - it's winner winner, chicken dinner. LIVANI Signature Duo: I'm onto my third re-order of this shampoo and conditioner set, thanks to the way it leaves my hair perfectly clean however perfectly hydrated. Simple yet a classic.SKIN
TEOXANE (3D) Lip: This literally and visably made such a different to my lips hydration and volume; see here for my full review, including before and afters. Haruharu wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner: Our trip to Seoul in May reminded me once again of the benefits of the daily use of essences/toners and this is one is my favourite. *Use code EMILYMC1988 for $$ off at Olive Young Facial Cube Ice Massager: The cheapest item I've likely ever purchased for my skin and one of the holy grails. You can read more about the benefits of icing all over the web as it's just so easy to reap all the rewards of tighter refreshed skin.MAKEUP
Refy Lip Blush in shades Canyon & Amber: The perfect barely-there lip shades that can be built upon for any look, yet feel like a clear lip balm upon application.Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in Poppy: The juiciest non-sticky lip gloss I've tried, with a hint of natural rosiness - gorgeous.
NARS Light Reflecting Eye Brightener: While this is certainly not revolutionary, I think it does what it should really well without looking cakey or heavy.
Youngblood Loose Natural Mineral Foundation: For someone who previously was not a fan of mineral foundation, this has changed my life completely. Pairs perfectly with powder and cream products without budging all day!
Dewytree Urban Shade Cover & Fit Sun: The best skin tint I picked up in Seoul. It's light enough for every day use that can be applied with fingers, brush or sponge. A damp sponge is my preference for a subtle lit-from-within-glow. *Use code EMILYMC1988 for $$ off at Olive Young
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Brow Freeze Brow Styling Wax: The only brow wax I've used that provides lift for my brows all day without any white cast or clumpiness.
Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumising Mascara: Yes, I'm late to the game I know but this is the best mascara I've finally tried in 2023.
NAILS
Dior Nail Glow: My favourite nail polish for the 'your-nails-but-better' effect. It's pricey yet, but a game-changer for DIYers. A more affordable option would be Essie's Hard to Resist Nail Strengthener in 00 Glow & Shine Pink.MISC
Current Body LED Face Mask: This mask provides visable results after each and every use. Definitely an investment piece, but one that will pay back dividends.
MOR Perfume Mint and Mimosa Eau de Parfum: Such a fresh light scent that I've been layering with Jazz Club by Maison Martin Margiela for a personalised signature scent.
Polished London Hyaluronic Teeth Whitening Powder: While this powder is extremely new to me, it's made quite an impact in my bathroom already. Add to your toothbrush (with or without toothpaste) for improved oral health as well as whiter teeth.
