Summer! It's all about that hot Summer sun, once December rolls around - we're talking heat, we're talking strappy dresses, and we're talking about the colour red featuring prominently around this time of year, and that is not a Christmas reference. Of course, I'm talking about how while we love when it's hot and the heat brings everyone out and about, it also brings out the colour red in our skin, whether it's through getting sunburnt, or simply from vasodilation, with the rush of blood going to the skin far easier when it's warm.

Well, thank goodness we live in a modern world that allows us to circumvent walking around looking like lobsters all the time, or succumbing to the temptation of wearing very heavy foundation, which could get cakey on the skin, and possibly wouldn't withstand the heat of the Summer. I certainly wouldn't want to be dealing with makeup melting off my face, while trying to combat the redness of my skin in  In steps Jane Iredale and their Hydropure Colour Correcting Serum to save the day!

This is an ultra-hydrating colour correcting serum that helps to neutralise the redness on the skin through the use of a sheer green tint, while also soothing the skin and combating dryness. It has some gorgeous ingredients in it, which makes it such a powerful little product. This contains allantoin, which is helpful for moisturising and protecting the skin, while also soothing and calming sensitive, red, irritated skin. The addition of hyaluronic acid means that this can help increase hydration to the surface layers of the skin, and CoQ10 is an antioxidant that can help reduce oxidative stress created by free radicals.

Olive squalene is included to help maintain the skin's moisture barrier, so that there's less trans epidermal water loss, and this can also prevent environmental aggressors from causing irritation to the skin. There is also calendula, algae, willow bark extract and aloe, and these can help to calm and soothe the skin. This formula leaves the skin looking dewy, with a reduction in the appearance of pore, fine lines and wrinkles, and ready to for your makeup! This comes in a clear bottle with a white cap and base, and each pump releases a nice amount of product.

I love that this goes onto the skin smoothly, and the green tint is quite sheer and gives you the idea that this isn't meant to cover up the red, but more to simply neutralize it's appearance. I'm more impressed by the other qualities of the serum, and that this is a skin loving makeup/skincare hybrid product that does as the label says it would. It leaves my skin feeling soft, and looking luminous, acting as the perfect base on which to build your makeup look. Sitting at $105, I know that the price tag isn't little, but it lives up to what it say it should, and when a product does what it declares it's meant to, well, you sit up and pay attention! You can grab your own bottle over here. Is this something you'd like to try?
