Frankie’s Food Factory | Fave Cafe for 2023

Flower Power has Never Been Better

The Spooning review renaissance continues with a review of the divine Frankie’s Food Factory at Terrey Hills. I have visited here four or five times this year and realised I had enough pics to do a review, most of my visits I haven’t had my camera with me so there is a mix of iPhone photos and camera pics.

“Relax and unwind in their picturesque cafe with their gourmet twist on breakfast and lunch favourites with inspiration. taken from flavours all across the world to feed your mind, body and soul; using only the freshest ingredients from local farmers.

They’re proud to be a family-friendly venue with plenty of space for the whole tribe, an indoor play area and a tantalising special kid’s menu for those little ankle biters! No more heart-breaking goodbyes with your furry friends – Frankie’s is 100% pet friendly!”

And the thing I love most is that Frankie’s are located inside, on the side or part of Flower Power nurseries, and not as a throwaway cafe for the sake of a cafe, they wholeheartedly embrace being a contender with every other cafe. I literally found these guys on a Flower Power newsletter I do believe haha

The Venue

The Frankie’s Food Factory I have visited has only been Terrey Hills, but I assume they would have similar set-ups at their other venues (Glenhaven and Milperra). Namely a place of life, flooded with plants everywhere (some fake, but most real), the place is brimming with Yang and life, so it is the perfect place for a breakfast, brunch or lunch, you usually should leave here way more positive than you entered. I am not a hippy but embrace feng shui haha.

At Terrey Hills they have indoor and outdoor seating for a monstrous amount of people and I have been here when it is full, it would have to be one of the biggest cafes I can think of. Outdoors is all covered, there is a giant pergola, but we usually sit on the car park side that is open one side. The smaller indoor section I tend to avoid due to it being so crowded and close to the counter.

Also, because they have a cake display next to the main counter that no matter how full I am I still drool over the cakes, sadly they do not make the cakes but they order some of the best in Sydney, may I suggest a sneaky takeaway for arvo tea hehe

The People

I haven’t met many staff there, but the service is good and they all appear to love being there, it is fast and efficient and there are quite a few staff so you will get someone’s attention fairly quick if you need them.

There was a manager I met on one visit who was really friendly, she wanted me to write a Google review for them, I finally will get around to it with this review, it will be nicely followed by posting it in on Google.

The Food

Oh the food – all of it has been wonderful. I haven’t eaten all the dishes but the stuff I have eaten is almost perfect.

Frankie’s French Toast was my most recent indulgence, from the look of it you would think it is really sweet but it is not, the chefs have definitely done a grand job in their meal balancing. The berries were the sweetest item and I will be having this again.

The Chorizo Hot Pot was the first meal I had at Frankie’s Food Factory, and it blew my mind, such a perfect protein breakfast with a little kick from the chorizo. On a side note – HOW GOOD IS CHORIZO??

Their Fruit and Ricotta Bruschetta is much like the French Toast, not too sweet and perfectly made.

The Shakshuka I will never have – the acid from the tomato sauce always affects me so I have found it much better to avoid. But dining partners have ordered it and loved it.

And the Hot Cake – OMG I loved it – I did enjoy it with a generous side of bacon, it already came with maple syrup, bacon was greatly needed lol (I do believe this was a suggestion from a staff member who I asked “what is your fave dish?)

My personal favourite dish goes to the Sujuk Omelette, I just love omelettes nearly as much as I love sujuk.

The Flamingo Hot Chocolate was suggested by a manager go with my glasses for a photo haha – it was great but I do not need it again hehe

It should be noted their coffees, and hot chocolates and for me, mochas, are a godsend using thick liquid chocolate, a little treat to end your meal, or with a cake after plant shopping sounds perfect.

In Conclusion

Frankie’s Food Factory will finish the year as my favourite cafe, having visited 4 or 5 times in about 15 months is a good sign – all of them paid visits.

A small gripe:

This would be a perfect 5 stars out of 5 if FFF ever regrammed lol, I have done four posts on Frankie’s and have one comment from them on a post. Influencers and good pics deserve attention. The amount of content you are ignoring is huge!!

SCORE BREAKDOWN: 3/3 food, 2/2 service, 1/1 drinks, 1/1 venue & ambience, 1/1 cost, 1/1 toilets & 0/1 bonus
