It brings me great joy to let you know that after living without goats for the past 6 months, we now have some again :-).
If you’re new here a bit of back story. I had goats for almost 6 years and loved them dearly – milking and feeding them daily (you can read a bit about them here). But as my work got busier and busier and I couldn’t find folks to help I made the tough decision to re-home them back to the country. They’re now living their best life in some rolling green paddocks.
But it turns out I don’t like being goat-less. So I started really asking around and happily found two great people who are as keen for goats as I am. Enter Lisa and Nadia.

We all live really close to one another which I think is essential and we all love gardening and goats – a match made in heaven. How does a goat share work? We’ve organised a shared online form to keep track of costs (and share them) and an online calendar that we put in who’s doing goats when and that’s it! This means we can all go away as needed and Clary and Flo get all the love and attention they need.
As you can see above, they are gorgeous goats. They’re toggenburgs which are a good milking breed and these particular goats have a beautifully gentle nature. Right now they still have their winter coats on which means I can braid Clary’s mohawk (above centre).
Why are they are my place? Well Nadia’s renting and Lisa doesn’t have enough space in her patch – plus I happen to have a very bespoke goat yard purpose built at my place, so it made sense.
Our pup, Olly (Little Bro) is both fascinated and terrified of our dear goats :-).
I’m a big fan of sharing things, especially with things that people might not think is possible. For three years we shared our friend’s car and for a year I shared my neighbour’s vacuum cleaner and now I share goats with two friends. It makes me feel bloody great. The more we can share, the less “stuff” we all need to own ourselves. And while not everyone can have goats, it’s likely we can all share *something*.
