Spring! There is no better time of year to give those walls a fresh coat!

Yes, we all love a crisp white space—it’s like the little black dress of interiors—classic and timeless. But let’s be real, sometimes it’s that splash of colour that really brings a room to life.

Now, don’t fret if the thought of choosing a colour palette makes you a bit nervous. With a dash of planning and a sprinkle of bravery, you’ll see it’s not as scary as it looks. In fact, it’s often the secret sauce that pulls everything together!

We’re diving headfirst into the vibrant world of hues and shades today, highlighting our absolute faves from Dulux’s hot-off-the-press 2024 colour forecast. And let me tell you, the folks at Dulux have nailed it! After tons of research and mixing up a storm, they’ve unveiled a collection that’s a feast for the eyes!

This year’s line up is all about fostering a sense of optimism and creating cozy corners in our homes that make us feel cared for and content. So, grab a cuppa, and let’s explore these gorgeous colours that are sure to make your space sing with happiness. ??

Potter’s Pink

First up….Potter’s Pink “a soft and welcoming terracotta”.  This warm neutral pairs back perfectly with a warm white or an impactful contract such as mid-blues or a vibrant citrus.  It’s rich clay and ‘reddy’ undertones means it’ll pair perfectly with many exterior elements making for the perfect colour to blend your interiors with your exterior!

Xena

We’re totally crushing on ‘Xena’—a muted olive green that’s stealing the spotlight in our colour crush list! Greens are all the rage right now, but Xena has this beautiful unique undertone that offers warmth and welcome in spades… like a cozy hug for your walls! Imagine this colour wrapping around your room, from the walls to the ceiling, creating an embrace of calm. And why not dial up the charm by pairing it with a complementary wallpaper? The texture could add just the right amount of drama and depth. Oh, the possibilities with Xena!

Carmen

Meet ‘Carmen’—a red that doesn’t just enter a room, it makes an entrance! This deep, impactful shade is your go-to for injecting drama into any room. It’s a showstopper that plays well with contrasting hues or can equally stand proudly on its own. But why stop at walls? Imagine ‘Carmen’ bringing to life some stunning custom joinery, or even better, set against a statement stone feature. It’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it’s waiting to transform your space.

Jodhpurs

Creams are staging a stylish resurgence, and not a moment too soon! They’ve taken some flak over the years—sometimes deservedly so—but prepare to have your mind changed. There’s a new hue on the block: a soft yellow, warm and inviting, that transforms any room into a snug haven, much like your favourite cozy blanket. This isn’t just a new shade; it’s a revolution in cream, with a white base that allows for versatility. Fancy a more understated effect? Opt for the ‘half-strength’ mix for a gentle hint of colour. It’s the perfect way to softly infuse your space with the comforting touch of sunlight.

Decoration Blue

Amongst the new ‘Muse’ collection, we welcome ‘Decoration Blue’ – a standout that you simply can’t overlook. It’s a nostalgic nod to the vibrant 70’s, which is reason enough to fall head over heels for it! But it’s not just about the retro vibe—this colour is a true chameleon. Whether you’re team cool or warm palette, ‘Decoration Blue’ slips right in, making it an incredibly adaptable choice for any space looking to make a statement.

Safe to say, we can’t wait to incorporate these colours in some future projects… Happy Painting!!
