A Land Of Plenty With Sarah Abbott At The Eden Reserve

there really is no greater way to exhibit or appreciate the scale and proportion of a piece of art than when it’s hung on a wall in familiar surrounds.

A Land Of Plenty is an immersive art experience by Australian still-life artist Sarah Abbott, hosted by The Eden Reserve in Brigadoon, WA.

THE ART.

With a dozen or so pieces on display strategically adorning the walls of The Eden Reserve, Sarah Abbott will be creating an experience I am very familiar with.

Having hosted my own an at-home in-situ event a few years ago alongside another prominent Perth artist, there really is no greater way to exhibit or appreciate the scale and proportion of a piece of art than when it’s hung on a wall in familiar surrounds.

?The theme of the home and domesticity is strong. I feel this is sometimes a criticism levelled towards a certain type of art, but for me it’s an honest reflection of my day to day life, and my interests.? — Perth artist, Sarah Abbott

This is one of those special, left-of-center type Perth events that are designed to give you a little ‘me time’ alongside your yearning to get back out into the local world.

Imagine spending your Saturday meandering around the retreat, whilst perusing new artworks (available in a variety of sizes and price points) whilst nibbling on local cheeses & produce with a cheeky gin in hand; sounds a bit delightful doesn’t it? So when I say what’s on Perth what I actually mean is can someone pass the serenity? This is not your garden variety art exhibition.

THE EDEN RESERVE.

The Eden Reserve is one of Swan Valley’s newest luxury accommodation retreats. Nestled in the quiet hills of Brigadoon surrounded by nature and boasting a vantage view of Perth Hills, the retreat is a perfect setting to appreciate this series of newly created paintings by Abbott.

LOCAL NOURISHMENT.

Feast on a bountiful visual treat illustrating stunning local produce from fruit, vegetable, cheese, honey and wine, reflecting the rich natural provenance of the Swan Valley and Perth Hills locale.

I mean, it would be rude not to.

Visitors will be offered a sampling of award-winning gins [I love discovering new local makers] by Swan Valley distillery Old Young’s, crafted using local produce and native Australian botanicals.

You will also get to enjoy your choice from two delicious cocktails made by Elixr Cocktails, Western Australia’s first premium pre-batched cocktail company. Inspired by the excellent produce of the Swan Valley, select from Wildflowertini, a tasteful blend of Old Young’s Vodka, 1829 Gin, elderflower liqueur and rose water; or Hey Honey, I’m Old Fashioned, an absolute classic whisky-based cocktail from the late 1800s given a local touch by using a dollop of House of Honey’s Parrot Bush blend instead of sugar.
