The Rocks, Darling Harbour and Barangaroo are ready to shine bright for NYE, with free and unticketed vantage points on Sunday 31 December. From spectacular views of the iconic Sydney Harbour and Cockle Bay Fireworks, to celebratory dining feasts, and electrifying parties to dance the night away. Come and ring in the new year at the heart of the glittering harbour.

NYE ROCKS!

The Rocks is home to some of the best vantage points in Sydney, where you can find incredible views to witness the breathtaking fireworks display. To make it even more exciting, this year all vantage points will be FREE with no tickets required to enjoy!

Open from 9am, breathtaking locations open to the public include:

Campbell’s Cove – Boasting picture perfect views, you’ll have one of the most enviable views of Sydney’s firework spectacular

Dawes Point Park – Situated right under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this grassy gem is perfect for a picnic and offers front row seats to the world-renowned firework show

East Circular Quay – Cushioned between The Rocks and the Sydney Opera House, you’ll have breathtaking views of the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge

West Circular Quay – Located in front of the MCA, grab a spot along the harbour foreshore to get prime views of our beloved landmarks, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge

Hickson Road Reserve – With the Sydney Harbour Bridge towering above you and Sydney Opera House right in front, you’ll have an unforgettable experience from this spot

While all vantage points are alcohol free zones, The Rocks offers incredible dining and beverage options for visitors to make the most out of the final hours of 2023.

 

If you’re looking for incredible dining before the countdown, there’ll be no shortage of firecracker menus wherever you go. Visit Sydney fine dining icons, Saké or Le Foote for a special one-night only set menu. For classic pub lovers, The Australian Heritage Hotel will welcome Sydneysiders to their stunning rooftop with a premium 4-hour beverage and canape package for the evening starting at $249pp. Sip in style at Frank Mac’s with  beloved cocktails all part of their three-hour drinks package, plus groovy tunes from a DJ until the clock hits midnight! Dance your way into the new year at The Argyle where DJ Havana Brown will be performing live alongside The Rockafellas.

NYE PICNIC AT BARANGAROO RESERVE

With its convenient location and picturesque panoramic views of the western side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this vantage point will also be FREE and non-ticketed for visitors! Gates to Barangaroo Reserve will open at 12pm exclusively through The Cutaway which is accessible via Wulugul Walk.

 

Visitors are welcome to BYO picnic blankets and food to Barangaroo Reserve with unopened, non-alcoholic beverages also permitted. Refillable water bottles are allowed, while they must be empty upon arrival there will be multiple free water fountains around Barangaroo Reserve to top up and stay hydrated. Guests can also participate in some Garden Games to keep the spirits high while waiting for the fireworks.

 

There will also be food trucks available as well as a licensed bar to purchase alcohol located around the Reserve. For those looking for a more luxurious feast to end 2023, Crown Sydney is offering a range of extravagant dining options for one-night-only such as a’Mare, Epicurean and Oncore by Clare Smyth, and many more. A range of New Years Eve dining offerings will also be available throughout The Streets of Barangaroo, with a star-studded line-up including Barangaroo House, Born by Tapavino, The Meat Wine and Co. and more!

Darling Harbour is the ultimate family destination this New Year’s eve, with the FREE vantage point on Cockle Bay open from 1pm, dazzling fireworks at 9pm and midnight, along with family-friendly dining and activities!

New Year’s Eve at Darling Harbour can be a whole day affair for the family. With a variety of free and ticketed attractions, visitors can run wild at the Darling Harbour Children’s Playground fit with a flying fox, water pumps, streams, jets and more.
