Welcome to this wild and wonderful world Stevie.
I first met Stevie a few months ago when she formed the most perfect bump in her Mumma’s skin. Even then she was sweet and calm as we plunged her mum, Pip, in the the cool early morning waters of Alligator Creek, south of Townsville. You can see this session here.
We weren’t supposed to do this shoot until December but Stevie made her arrival a little earlier than planned but in perfect timing and at a mere one week old, I was in Townsville. Pip told me that “she sleeps 21 hours a day, so if she doesn’t change in a day, these photos will be a breeze” so of course in the true fashion of child, Stevie did not sleep once in the whole 90 minutes I was there, however, she only made one teeny tiny little squeak.
She is the most calm and placid child who only stared in awe and wonder. Of course, how could she not be completely content with the world around her with so much love and support. Her parents do nothing but spend all day staring at what they have created, a true, complete manifestation of their love. To top that off, Grandma, Pip’s Mum, had come up from down south to lend a truly capable hand, not only as a Grandma but also midwife and lactation consultant (how fortunate to have one of those living with you).
These three will move in January and I’m sad to see them go, you see I’m a little invested in their story now. I can not express how great the pleasure of meeting them as been, they are goals on so many levels. I am certain that Stevie has picked the right parents and along with them, she is going places in her lifetime.
To Stevie,
Oh you beautiful sweet baby girl, what an asset you are to this world. You are surrounded by the most lovely people who will protect you with their all and raise you in a way that allows your precious heart to shine.
For you I wish a marvellous future filled with love and laughter but also troubles and pain because you need these to grow. Remember you are always loved and worthy of all that your heart desires.
xx
