Halloween can be a fun time for children & families, but for some pets, it’s can be a nightmare. Skip the stress & keep your pets safe this year.

? Ensure your pets don’t have access to Halloween lollies, especially those containing chocolate or xylitol (a common sugar substitute found in sugar-free lollies and gum)

? Pets can easily become anxious & frightened with the doorbell constantly ringing seeing children in strange clothes & masks. Confining them to their own safe haven for the evening can help calm nerves & prevent them from running out of the constantly opening front door.

? Make sure your pet is properly identified (microchip, collar and ID tag) in case they escapes through open doors while you’re distracted with trick-or-treaters;

? If you plan to put a costume on your pet, make sure it fits properly & is comfortable, doesn’t have pieces that can easily be chewed off, and doesn’t interfere with your pet’s sight, hearing, breathing, opening its mouth, or moving. Never leave your pet unsupervised while they are wearing a costume
