The upcoming 2024 Nissan X-Trail has once again been spotted testing in the country. This time around, a few more pictures of this undisguised test mule have been spotted. The new Nissan X-Trail will most likely be launched next year, as sightings of this SUV have become very frequent. These pictures come courtesy of Motorbeam.
2024 Nissan X-Trail: Exterior Design
From the pictures, we can note that the company is testing the vehicle without any camouflage. Most likely, this could be done to gauge public interest. This is an especially important test, as once launched, it will be taking on the mighty Toyota Fortuner, which so far has remained the king of the full-size SUV segment. From the front, we can note that this grey-colored model boasts the imposing V-chrome grille, split LED headlights with DRLs up top, and a gunmetal grey-colored skid plate.
The side profile of the fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail is very unique and sports sharp body lines along with a bold silhouette. It was also seen wearing 19-inch machined multispoke alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the rear end boasts a chunky bumper with the same gunmetal grey skid plate. The mule was also seen equipped with LED taillights and X-Trail badge on the tailgate.
Interior
Although no spy shots of the interior of the upcoming Nissan X-Trail have been leaked, international models’ pictures suggest that India too will get the same luxurious interior layout. Internationally, the X-Trail on the inside comes equipped with a 10.8-inch head-up display, 12.3-inch digital dashboard, and 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It will most likely be offered with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto along with ADAS and other modern features.
In terms of safety tech, the 2024 Nissan X-Trail will come with features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, blind spot assist, lane departure warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, 7 airbags, reverse parking camera, and a number of other safety features.
Platform and Dimensions
The forthcoming Nissan X-Trail is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance CMF-C platform. This is the same platform that underpins the Mitsubishi Outlander in the international markets. Dimensionally, the Nissan X-Trail measures in at 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, 1,725 mm in height, and its wheelbase is 2,705 mm.
Powertrain Options
On the drivetrain front, the Nissan X-Trail in the international markets is offered with two powertrains. The first is a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol four-cylinder engine. This motor generates a maximum power of 181 bhp and 244 Nm of torque. It also comes equipped with a “multi-mode” AWD system, which offers Eco, Standard, and Sport modes in addition to giving different traction modes.
While the other powertrain option, which most likely will be offered in India, will be the 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine. This motor comes mated to an e-Power hybrid, which offers a power of 140 bhp and 250 Nm of torque.
