Recently, a video surfaced on the internet featuring Mr. Manoj Joshi and his modified Type 1 Toyota Fortuner. The SUV underwent a complete transformation into a premium vehicle using an aftermarket body kit. The video, shared by Autorounders on their channel, showcases two clips. The first reveals Joshi’s reaction upon seeing the finished product, juxtaposed with the SUV’s appearance when it initially arrived at the workshop.

The conversion of Toyota Fortuners has become increasingly common, yet only a few workshops execute it as impeccably as Autorounders. Manoj Joshi owned the first-generation Type 1 Toyota Fortuner, a white-colored SUV that appears aged, likely due to years of use traveling between locations.

Like many Toyota Fortuner owners, Joshi seemed unable to find a suitable replacement for his trusty Fortuner. Despite the newer versions being available in the market, they were considerably more expensive compared to his existing one. To enhance his vehicle and obtain a premium experience, he opted for a makeover, choosing an aftermarket Lexus body kit.

This kind of conversion is quite popular for Type 1 Fortuners. It involves a complete transformation of the SUV’s front, including replacing stock headlamps, the bonnet, bumper, grille, and fog lamps with an imported aftermarket kit. The SUV’s color was also changed, necessitating a complete paint job. Workers likely stripped the original paint and rectified minor body dents using a dent puller or putty.

Following this, a coat of primer was applied before the car was taken to the paint booth. Each panel was meticulously painted, and a clear coat was added to achieve a factory finish. Joshi’s Fortuner was painted in an appealing shade of grey, complementing the SUV’s look. The rear bumper and tail light were also replaced and painted as part of the conversion.

The aftermarket Lexus kit lends the SUV a premium and imposing appearance. It includes aftermarket headlamps with LED DRLs, new dual-function LED DRLs on the bumper, and fog lamps. The tail lamp is also an aftermarket LED unit. Additionally, the actor upgraded the alloy wheels, painting the brake calipers red and giving the wheels a black finish.

The SUV’s interior received a custom makeover as well. Beige-colored custom-made seat covers were installed, alongside an aftermarket touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel was also upgraded. Joshi appears visibly pleased with the overall work, as seen at the beginning of the video where he warmly embraces the owner for doing a wonderful job. Toyota Fortuner is an extremely reliable SUV and that is one of the reason why people have a hard time replacing it. It still holds great value in used car market for the same reason. There videos where Fortuner type 1 has been neatly converted to look like current generation model with aftermarket accessories.
