Maruti Suzuki, the largest car manufacturer in India, offers a variety of models each year. 2023 proved to be an eventful year for Maruti fans as the much-awaited Jimny 5-door, Fronx, and Invicto (rebadged Innova Hycross) were launched in the market. As this year draws to a close, India’s largest car manufacturer has already begun preparing for 2024. Maruti is planning to introduce three major launches in the Indian market next year. Here is the list of three new models that Maruti Suzuki will launch in India in 2024.
Maruti Suzuki Swift
The first car on the list is one of the most beloved hatchbacks in the country. Since its launch in 2005, the Swift has carved a niche among family car buyers and youngsters alike. Suzuki recently introduced the next-generation Swift in the Japanese market, and it is expected to be launched in India next year. The next-gen Swift has already been spotted during testing in India and is anticipated to debut early next year.
2024 SwiftThe next-gen Maruti Suzuki Swift will feature a redesigned exterior and updated interiors. While the international version offers ADAS and rear disc brakes, these features are unlikely to be included in the Indian release. The new hatchback will be powered by a brand-new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine. This engine is designed to offer the best of both worlds, expected to be fuel-efficient and provide better low-end torque for city driving.
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Swift is also expected to feature a strong hybrid engine. Upon its release, the Swift will be the first to incorporate this technology, positioning it as the most fuel-efficient hatchback in its segment. Maruti will offer the 1.2, 3-cylinder engine with options for a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox. The strong hybrid variant would be equipped with an e-CVT. The expected price of the Swift is around Rs 6-9 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Maruti Suzuki DzireFollowing the launch of the Maruti Swift, an updated version of the Dzire can be anticipated. The next-generation Dzire will be based on the upcoming Swift. This compact sedan is expected to hit the market around the middle of 2024. Similar to the Swift hatchback, the next-gen Dzire will be powered by the same 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine. Like the hatchback, the sedan will also be available with 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Reports suggest that the Dzire might also feature the strong hybrid setup upon its 2024 launch. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is expected to be priced around Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh.
Maruti Suzuki eVX SUV
Maruti Suzuki eVXMaruti’s first electric car for India is set to be launched in the market next year. Test mules of this electric SUV have been spotted several times in India and are expected to debut towards the end of 2024. The eVX concept was showcased at the Auto Expo in 2023, and the production version of this SUV is anticipated to resemble the Grand Vitara SUV. The Maruti Suzuki eVX is expected to offer two battery pack options: a 48 kWh unit for the lower versions and a 60 kWh unit for the higher variants. Loaded with features like a large infotainment screen, 360-degree camera, ADAS, and more, the SUV is estimated to be priced at around Rs 23 lakh and above.
