Despite its small size and affordability, the Gensol EV will come equipped with ADAS and an automated parking function

Genson Electric Vehicles has released a teaser for their first production model, primarily designed for urban use. The Gensol EV will be manufactured in India, promising impressive technology standards within its segment.

The teaser video showcases several design aspects of the Gensol EV, which appears to have a very small footprint. In it, we catch a glimpse of the headlights and taillights, the small-diameter wheels, portions of the bodywork, and a top view that hints at the presence of a sunroof. Based on the reflections in the front view, it’s possible that the EV will ride on three wheels, although there’s a chance that it could be a four-wheeler with the rear ones positioned very closely together.

The video also gives us a glimpse of the interior. Highlights include a free-standing infotainment touchscreen and the good old rotating A/C controls on the center console.

While the company didn’t disclose the specifications of the battery pack or the fully electric powertrain, they promise a range of over 200 km (124 miles) and a top speed of 80 km/h (50 mph). Even more noteworthy, this small vehicle will come equipped with an abundance of technology. According to the website, the city car will feature AI tech, an ADAS suite, an automated parking system, and something referred to as ‘autonomous navigation’.

The Gensol EV is set to make its debut in March 2024 and is anticipated to be manufactured in the company’s ‘sustainable’ production facility in Chakan, India. According to the Times of India, the new model is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 5-6 Lakh, which is equal to around $6,000-7,200, positioning it as the most affordable EV in the region

Gensol Electric Vehicles is a subsidiary of Ahmedabad-based Gensol Engineering that also owns a ride-sharing company called BluSmart Electric Mobility.
