Driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol is illegal almost everywhere in the world. Weve come across several incidents in the past where intoxicated individuals have caused accidents, injuring innocent bystanders. Here, an incident from Kerala illustrates this danger vividly: a drunk person driving a Nissan Sunny sedan created chaos on the road, persisting even after the left front wheel fell off.
The video was shared by Mediaone TV Live on their YouTube channel and occurred in Keralas Alappuzha district. The individual responsible for this incident is identified as Deepan Nair from the Vaikom region in Kottayam district. A video shows a Nissan Sunny being driven on the road initially appearing normal, but upon closer inspection, one would notice the missing front wheel on the left side. The fender of the car is also damaged which means the car was involved in a crash and probably lost the wheel in that crash. The Nissan Sunny has a black number plate with yellow numbers which means it was a rented self drive car.
Reports indicate that Deepan Nair was intoxicated and likely lost the left front wheel in a minor crash, leaving his car without a complete front wheel. Locals gathered around the vehicle, attempting to halt the driver by trying to break the cars window glass. Even the police present tried to open the door and apprehend the driver, but he fled the scene. According to the report, his reckless driving led to injuries for 11 people.

The police, aided by locals, followed the car on a bike, informing nearby stations for backup. The car briefly slowed at a junction, but the intoxicated driver attempted to drive forward, disregarding the people present. Remarkably, the drunk person drove the car for almost 23 kilometers without the front wheel.
Most roads in Kerala are narrow, heightening the risk of a major accident caused by the drunk driver. Before finally coming to a stop, the intoxicated driver collided with a scooter rider and a car. The driver was so intoxicated that he likely wasnt aware of the missing wheel. The left wheels disc was visibly rubbing against the road, creating a distinct sound. Finally, the police apprehended the driver for his irresponsible behavior on the road. Deepan Nair even tried to attack the locals and cops to escape from the spot after getting out of the vehicle.
Fortunately, none of the individuals involved sustained serious injuries. The report doesnt specify how the front wheel of the car became detached. It serves as a stark reminder: never operate a car, bike, or any vehicle under the influence of alcohol. This video is a clear example of why one should never engage in such risky behavior, especially while intoxicated. The driver had absolutely no control over the vehicle and was fortunate to avoid a major accident. Intoxicated individuals often have compromised senses and slower response times to road obstacles, posing a risk not only to themselves but also to other road users.
