The South Korean automotive giant Hyundai Motor India is gearing up for the launch of four SUVs next year. Three of these upcoming SUVs will be facelifts of existing models, namely the Creta, Alcazar, and Tucson. However, the fourth will be a brand-new model. If you are one of those Hyundai SUV lovers, read till the end to know which is the fourth SUV.
Hyundai Creta facelift
Starting off the year 2024 with a bang, Hyundai India will most likely unveil the Creta facelift on January 16. The launch will be followed in the later months; however, this unveil will take the covers off the much-anticipated champion of the compact SUV segment in India. Over the last few months, we have seen a number of fully camouflaged test mules of this SUV. From what we have seen so far, it has been noted that the SUV will get an extensive exterior redesign. The upcoming Creta facelift will draw its inspiration from the Hyundai Palisade flagship SUV, which is currently sold in the international markets.
The front will boast new vertically stacked LED headlights, a brand-new parametric front grille, a new front bumper, and other upgrades. The overall silhouette will be the same, but the rear will also get a set of new H-shaped taillights. Apart from the exterior updates, the car will get a few upgrades on the interior as well, but no major overhaul will take place. Like its cousin, the new Seltos facelift, the Creta facelift will also come with feature upgrades such as a 360-degree camera, ADAS, and a new 1.5-litre 158 bhp and 250 Nm torque engine. The rest of the engines from the outgoing model will be retained by the company. An N-Line variant of the Creta will also follow up around April-May.
Hyundai Alcazar facelift
Soon after the launch of the Creta facelift, the company will also launch the updated Alcazar facelift. Most likely, it will get the same exterior design as the Creta facelift, with a few differentiating factors like the front grille and the rear end. The Alcazar is essentially a three-door Creta, which has also made a decent name for itself in the Indian car market. The cabin of the new Alcazar facelift will also most likely remain the same with a few minor upgrades and new feature offerings like the Creta facelift.
Currently, this SUV is offered with four engine options. These include 1493cc and 1498cc diesel engines, while the other two are 1482cc and 1498cc petrol engines. The 1498cc or the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine is the newest addition to the lineup, and it produces a maximum of 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque. Hyundai will be offering this exact same engine with the Creta facelift, as mentioned above.
Hyundai Tucson facelift
Last month, in November, Hyundai Motor India unveiled the facelifted Tucson globally. It has now been reported that this model will be launched in India next year. The SUV will get an updated exterior design, and the interior will also offer a number of new upgrades. On the outside, the Tucson facelifted will get a new, sleeker-looking front grille and the same LED headlights and DRLs.
Apart from these, the car will get an extensively redesigned interior. This time around, the interior will come equipped with two massive connected 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screens and a digital instrument gauge cluster. The controls for the dual-zone climate have also been modernized. The list of features will include a 360-degree reverse camera, ambient lighting, powered seats, a panoramic sunroof, air purifier, powered boot opening, multiple airbags, ESP, hill hold assist, and level 2 autonomous driving capabilities.
Hyundai Creta EV
Finally, the fourth and last SUV on this list is the highly awaited Creta EV. Like the facelifted Creta, the Creta EV test mules have been spotted on multiple occasions, and it seems like the launch is very near. Most likely from the outside, it will look exactly like the Creta facelift but will get a few EV-specific design updates. Once launched, it will compete with EVs like Maruti Suzuki eVX and Harrier EV.
As for the EV drivetrain of the Creta EV, according to Autocar India, it will come equipped with a 45 kWh battery pack. It has been stated that Hyundai’s global supplier for lithium-ion battery packs, LG Chem, will be offering the battery pack for the Creta EV as well. As for the electric motor on the Creta EV, it will come equipped with a single motor on the front axle, which will produce 138 bhp of power and 255 Nm of torque.
