The black Strasse wheels of this 720S Spider work beautifully with the bright red brake calipers too

The McLaren 720S didn’t just put rivals from Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Porsche on notice when it premiered, but it also apparently rubbed some P1 owners the wrong way because it offered similar performance to the hybrid hypercar but for significantly less money.

It’s hardly a surprise then why the 720S has proven to be so popular in recent years and why there are plenty of enthusiastic owners looking to modify it and make it even more impressive. From upgraded turbochargers to fully-built engines, tuners have developed all kinds of packages for the mid-engined supercar and while this Spider example retains its original powertrain, it does stand out thanks to its new set of shoes.

These wheels come courtesy of Strasse and are known as the SV4 Deep Concave FS. They measure 19×9 at the front and 20×12 at the rear and have a satin black finish on the center while the lip and barrel are bathed in gloss black. Contrasting the black wheels are bright orange brake calipers and Strasse-branded center caps with a yellow finish.

Then there’s the paint of the car itself. Unlike Ferrari owners who typically stick with the car manufacturer’s more conventional color choices, McLaren owners have shown a willingness to adopt very bright colors since the brand’s re-launch with the MP4-12C. This 720S Spider is bathed in Paris Blue which looks lovely and helps to accentuate the lines of the car.

McLaren unveiled the replacement to the 720S in the form of the new 750S earlier this year. While the new car looks essentially identical to the one it replaces, it has benefitted from a number of suspension changes, tweaks to the steering, and has seen power from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 dialed up to 740 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm).
