This GT MkII is number 18 of the limited-run models built and churns out 700 hp from its 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6
There are just 45 examples of the track-only Ford GT MkII in existence and one of the brightest and most colorful out there is looking for a new home. It is expected to fetch between $1.55 million and $1.7 million, placing it far out of reach for us mere mortals.
This 2020 Ford GT MkII is the 18th unit out of the 45 built by Ford Performance Multimatic in Canada. While it shares its foundation with the road-legal model, it has undergone significant modifications to enhance its performance significantly.

Among the notable modifications, the most prominent are in the aerodynamics department. The car features a massive rear wing with substantial end plates, a distinctive diffuser, unique side skirts, and a dramatic new front fascia complete with a large splitter and canards. These enhancements increase downforce by a remarkable 400% compared to the road car.
Additionally, Ford has replaced the original adjustable suspension with five-way adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers. The vehicle also rides on unique forged alloy wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport GT tires.
Although the Mecum listing doesn’t specify the original owner’s motivations for selling the car, they had a lot of fun speccing it from the factory, opting for a bright Golf Heritage Blue paint finish with Epic Gulf Orange and black accents. Helping to protect the paint is a ceramic coating and paint protection film. It also rocks large ‘1’ roundels on the doors and is just crying out to be unleashed and enjoyed on a racetrack.
When developing the GT MkII, Ford and Multimatic aimed to produce a vehicle similar to the GT GT3 race car that private owners could drive. A key advantage the MkII has over the race car is its freedom from racing regulations, allowing the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 engine to be tuned to deliver a robust 700 hp.
