The Mahindra and Mahindra brand has been quite generous when it comes to handing out their cars as gifts to accomplished sports personalities in India. There are many others who put unusual requests to Anand Mahindra seeking special prices on Mahindra cars. He has shared a video on his social media with an unusual request from a kid.

My friend @soonitara sent me this saying “I love Cheeku!” So I watched some of his posts on Insta (@cheekuthenoidakid) and now I love him too. My only problem is that if we validated his claim & sold the Thar for 700 bucks, we’d be bankrupt pretty soon…? pic.twitter.com/j49jbP9PW4

In the video, the kid is talking to his father and thinks that the two model XUV700 and the Thar are the same models. He then makes the request to Anand Mahindra to sell the Thar for Rs 700.

Mahindra says that he has received the video as a forward. However, he has posted his response in the caption of the video. He says, “My friend Sooni Taraporevala sent me this saying “I love Cheeku!” So I watched some of his posts on Instagram (@cheekuthenoidakid) and now I love him too. My only problem is that if we validated his claim and sold the Thar for 700 bucks, we’d be bankrupt pretty soon.”

A follower of Mahindra replied on the post, “Good idea to make 700 rs. Thar or XUV 700 toy car and to be gifted with selected models. It will be rage like hot wheels among kids and create a kids fan club.”

Another Twitter user also suggested that Mahindra can start a lucky draw contest for those who book their XUV 700 with just ?700. The one who wins the lucky draw will get the car only for ?700, while the cost of the car will be recovered through the participants.

Anand Mahindra gifted six Thars to Indian cricket team

In the 2021 India-Australia test match series, India emerged victorious in the final match, securing the series win with an outstanding performance. Despite being plagued by injuries, the team that played in the last match included six debutants. Anand Mahindra, the Chairman of the Mahindra Group, praised their exceptional performance and announced that each debutant would be gifted a brand-new Mahindra Thar.

Mahindra and Mahindra have always been known for their generosity in supporting sports figures across the country. Anand Mahindra, in particular, often makes headlines for gifting new Mahindra vehicles to high-achievers in various fields. In this specific case, he presented the parents of Praggnanandhaa, a young Indian chess grandmaster, with a new Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV.

There are many other sports personalities who have received the Mahindra cars as a gift. Olympic medalists including Neeraj Chopra received as customised XUV700 when he won the gold medal. The automobile company has even gifted a XUV700 to the Guruvayur Temple.

Mahindra is also getting ready to introduce an exciting addition to their vehicle lineup. Recent trademark registrations suggest that the company has ambitious plans for the upcoming Thar 5-door model. They have filed seven new names, including intriguing options such as Thar Armada, Thar Centurion, Thar Cult, Thar Gladius, Thar Rex, Thar Roxx, and Thar Savannah.

While the name has been registered, Mahindra may decide to choose a different name from the list or opt for something like Thar Armada. The Armada, though it sold well in the past, doesn’t have the same rugged image as the Thar. It was primarily known as a workhorse. Mahindra might conduct market research to understand how customers would perceive the revival of the Armada name if applied to the 5-door Thar model.
