From the electric Porsche 718 and facelifted 911 to the all-new BMW M5, there’s plenty to look forward to in the coming year
A new year is just around the corner, and that means so too are the launches of a stack of exciting new cars, some of which we’ve yet to see without their anti-spy-shot camouflage. But which of the coming year’s new vehicles are you most looking forward to seeing?
Cars preparing to make the transition from prototype to production include the BMW M5 – and specifically it’s suitcase-swallowing Touring variant – the first ever electric Porsche Macan and 718 Boxster, and their facelifted 911 and Taycan brothers. Mercedes’ big electric G-Class will also shed its camo in 2024, and we should get a look at the new E63 minus its disguise and find out whether those rumours of it downsizing from a V8 to a hybridized inline six are true.
The Germans, and the premium and luxury segments, don’t have the monopoly on notable debuts, though. We’re all waiting with baited breath to see how Dodge will bring its Charger Daytona SRT concept to the street, and to see what’s under the hood and whether it really can win diehard muscle-heads over now that the V8 engine option is gone.

2025 BMW M5 Touring is one of the coming year’s most anticipated carsSticking with the Stellantis family, but hopping to a very different branch on the tree, we’re also curious to see if anyone will care about the revitalized Lancia, or whether the brand’s new reskinned Peugeot 208 will sink without trace like the prototype that was stolen from the factory a few weeks back. And will Alfa’s first ever EV, the Milano, be worth the wait?
Or maybe you’re more excited about getting your first in-the-metal look at cars that have already been unveiled. We’re thinking of vehicles like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and the electric Mini Cooper, machines that you might have pored over online, but will finally get to see and sit in – or perhaps even buy – when they land in dealers during the coming months.
