Car buyers in India are known for making very rational purchases. People in India buy the cars they believe will last them a long time and which they can keep running with the lowest expense possible. Recently, a video of one such owner who has driven his Renault Triber seven-seater MPV for over two lakh km has been shared, where he talks about his entire experience of buying, owning, and driving this MPV over the last few years and expresses how satisfied he is with it.
Renault Triber with 2 Lakh km
The video of this Renault Triber owner and his 2 lakh km plus driven MPV has been shared on YouTube by DDS on their channel. The video starts with the presenter introducing the MPV and its owner. He mentions that the odometer at the moment is showing around 1.08 lakh km; however, in reality, the car has been driven more than 2 lakh km. He states that the digital mileage meter has been rolled back by the owner.
How much did the owner drive?
Following this, he starts questioning the owner about the vehicle. He starts with the date of purchase of this Renault Triber, and the owner answers that he bought this MPV back in 2021. He booked the car in December 2020. Following this, he asks about the changes done by him to this car, and after purchase, he replies that after 1,000 kms he added a brand new CNG kit worth Rs 40,000 to his car.
Next up, the presenter asked the owner about his average daily driving in kms. The owner answers that when he used to work in Gurgaon, he had to daily drive from Delhi to Gurgaon and back, and his total running was around 200 km daily. He added that he has also taken many trips to Udaipur and Jaipur in Rajasthan and also to Lucknow. He stated that he works in a private company as an accountant.
Condition of the vehicle
Moving on, the presenter then shows the interior condition of the Renault Triber. He shows that the driver seat of the MPV has been completely squished down because of the frequent ingress and egress. He also added that the floor matting of the car has also worn out. He asked the owner about other things that have worn out or have been replaced, to which he answered that the clutch plate of the vehicle was changed at 1.5 lakh km.
Major mechanical issues
Next up, he also shares that a major mechanical issue occurred, and they had to change the engine of the vehicle at around 1.7 lakh km. He explained that he lent his friend his car, and in the night he could not see a ditch, and he jumped through it, damaging the plastic oil pan underneath the car. This led to an oil leak, which starved the engine of the oil, and hence the engine ceased. They then took the vehicle to the service center who asked Rs 60,000 for repair. However, the dealership denied providing a guarantee on their work, so he requested to change the engine.
The owner explained that he had to request the dealership to change the engine multiple times, and after negotiating, they agreed. He stated that he had to pay Rs 15,000 from his own pocket, and then the change was carried out under the insurance. Following this, the presenter mentions that the odometer reads around 1.10 lakh km. To this, the owner explained that he has rolled back the meter a few times for his own satisfaction.
