The Indian billionaire family of Poonawallas is one of the biggest collectors of Rolls-Royce cars in India. The family owns numerous Rolls-Royces and other expensive cars in their garage. Cyrus Poonawalla, the head of the Poonawalla family and the Managing Director of Serum Institute of India, also has a huge affinity for this British luxury carmaker. One of the most important vehicles in his collection was the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Limousine, which has been seen only on a few occasions. A few years ago, this luxury limousine that belongs to the Poonawalla family was spotted driving on the road.

The video of Cyrus Poonawalla’s vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Spur Limousine was shared on YouTube by Manav Shah on their channel. It starts off with the spotter following this unique stretched-out limousine traveling inside a gated community somewhere in the state of Maharashtra. The driver of this sedan then turns on his right indicator, and after pulling towards the right side in front of the owner’s mansion, turns left and reverses into the main gate. A security guard can be seen keeping an eye on the vehicle and the road for incoming traffic.

As mentioned above and seen in the video, the car is not a standard Rolls-Royce Silver Spur. This model is the extended version of the standard car and was a coach-built limousine that was once commissioned by the Poonawalla family 38 years ago. It can be noted this stretched-out sedan is painted in a shade of reddish-brown, and the roof is finished in black. It features Rolls-Royce logos on the boot of the car along with the front grille.

This model also gets chrome-plated wheel caps with body-colored accents and has Rolls-Royce logos in the middle. Now, despite being a limousine, it can be noted from the video that there were only 4 doors on this sedan. Now for those unaware, the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur itself is a long-wheelbase version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit sedan. And this limousine is based on this long wheelbase version, which makes it even longer than before.

Most likely, the Poonawalla family has sold this sedan. Upon digging for more information about this car, it has been found that this sedan was first registered back in 1986. Currently, the vehicle is with the second owner, which means that the Poonawalla family has parted ways with it. Coming to the powertrain side of things, the standard Silver Spur back in the day came equipped with a 6.75-liter V8 engine, which was mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Now, which exact motor is under the bonnet of this sedan is currently unknown.

Apart from this sedan, the son of Cyrus Poonawalla also owns a Rolls-Royce Phantom VIII. This sedan belongs to the newest generation and comes powered by a massive 6.75-liter V12 engine. This behemoth engine makes a total of 563 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. Despite its sheer size, it is regarded as one of the most silent engines in the world. It has been tuned to provide the most buttery smooth riding experience.
