As we reflect on 2023, we are so grateful to be a part of such a great industry with such giving supporters. Through the help of our valuable partners, we have been able to give back thousands of dollars to high school automotive, diesel, and CTE programs.

Late last year we started monthly $1,000 giveaways where we randomly selected a winner who participated in polls on WrenchWay Shop Talk, and awarded them $500 and gave $500 to the high school auto/diesel/CTE program of their choice.

High schools throughout the country have utilized the donation funds from WrenchWay to enhance their programs by investing in new shop uniforms, tools, and more!

Here are some of the recipients from the past year.

11 Schools that Received Donations from WrenchWay

Stevenson High School – Sterling Heights, MI

The auto program at Stevenson High School was able to purchase uniforms for the entire CTE class with their donation money. These uniforms are more than just shirts—they have helped the students gain recognition and build confidence as technicians.

“The uniforms have bonded the class together because now they are a part of a team, and they realize they are all working towards similar goals in the automotive field. Plus, wearing the shirts also makes them feel like professional techs.”

Cedar Shoals High School – Athens, GA

Cedar Shoals’ auto program purchased the parts and supplies needed to repair a 2001 Ford Focus for a member of their community who was facing hard times. Their program loves to give back when able, and it was a very moving experience for the class.

“When the owner of the vehicle came to pick up her car, she was so happy she started crying. My whole class was very moved by her emotions as she told us she had already landed a new job as a secretary because her car was working. We were glad to use the money for such a worthy cause. Thank you!”

Don Tyson School of Innovation – Springdale, AR

The auto program at Page High School in Arizona applied the donation money to purchase a variety of tools and equipment for the shop class. This includes an AUTEL TPMS programmer, two pressure washers, and a wheel balancer adapter plate set. The students have enjoyed utilizing this new equipment, and instructors, Chris Green and Charles Sharp, have enjoyed introducing it to the students.

Effingham College & Career Academy – Rincon, GA

Matthew Turner, Director of Automotive at Effingham College and Career Academy, utilized the WrenchWay donation to enhance their program’s testing abilities. This support has not only allowed their students to gain hands-on experience, but has also created a lasting impact.

“The enhanced testing capabilities have allowed our students to gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools and technologies, better preparing them for their future careers in the automotive industry. Your commitment to supporting educational programs like ours is invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for your partnership.”

New tools were purchased for Spring Lake Park High School’s Intro to Trades course, where many students in the area start their careers in the auto industry. Additionally, Spring Lake has experienced an increase in enrollment following the donation.

“We used the $500 donation to help gain more tools to be used in our Introduction to the Trades course. We have increased our student numbers and have had more students gain access to auto industry jobs and post-secondary training. We truly appreciate your support of the Spring Lake Park Schools.”

Eric Van Brocklin, Career Pathways Lead, Spring Lake Park High School

Seattle Public Schools – Seattle, WA

The auto tech program at Seattle Public Schools used the donation money to purchase additional tool kits, which has increased hands-on project time for their students.

“Thanks again for your donation to our auto tech program. I am happy to share that we used the donation to buy additional tool kits so that more students could work on hands-on projects at the same time. This reduced wait time for shared tools and increased hands-on learning time. Thank you so much for all your support of our program!”

One of our latest donation recipients, SouthWest Metro, is still eagerly awaiting their donation, but has plans for the funds once they arrive.

“I plan to spend the $500 donation on tools for the students to use during their shop exercises. Thank you again for the generous gift!”
