The Boeing 757 is a narrowbody airliner with two engines. It was developed as an advancement of Boeing's previous narrowbody airliner, the trijet Boeing 727 - one of the best-selling aircraft in the 1960s and 1970s, utilized by many US airlines for its short-haul and medium-haul routes. The 757 was also developed shortly after the success of bringing the 747 to market, as Boeing then wanted to expand on its success by further developing products for the narrowbody market.
