Notably, Air Canada is set to become the first Canadian airline to provide services to Tulum*, with flights originating from Toronto and Montreal to the newest airport in Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula.
Further, the airline will extend its reach to Charleston, SC from Toronto. Seats for these newly added services are now available for purchase through aircanada.com, the Air Canada app, Air Canada’s contact centers, and travel agents.
It is worth noting that flights to Tulum will officially be available for sale starting December 15.
“We are thrilled to incorporate two entirely new destinations into our global network – Tulum, Mexico, accessible from our Toronto and Montreal hubs, and Charleston, South Carolina, with additional flights from Toronto, along with new routes to Austin and St. Louis from Montreal in the summer of 2024. These fresh additions to our portfolio align with Air Canada’s strategy of market leadership and network diversification, focusing on bolstering capacity in sought-after leisure destinations like Tulum and rapidly expanding key metropolitan areas in the United States,” expressed Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada.
“We are particularly delighted to expand our North American network extensively, covering coast-to-coast travel with increased frequencies in vital markets such as Ottawa, Calgary, Saskatoon, and Regina, both in regional markets and through the early resumption of major seasonal routes. By amplifying the scale of our Canadian hubs, we are providing more travel options and unparalleled connectivity to and from our global network. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to welcome our customers on board.”
Looking ahead to the summer of 2024, Air Canada aims to serve 120 destinations across Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean, operating up to 520 flights daily.
This translates to approximately 66,000 seats deployed, signifying a 5% increase in North America and Caribbean seat capacity compared to 2023.
