In 2014, US low-cost carrier Southwest Airlines decided to reupholster the seats onboard its colossal fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft. Replacing the fabric covering all of its seats fleet-wide was quite a big deal, not only concerning time and money spent on the project but also in terms of the 'waste' generated from such an undertaking. Thankfully, however, there were also many benefits to the move.
