Qatar Airways will equip cabin crew with 15,000 smartphones as the carrier looks to digitalize service to create a more “personalized experience on board” flights.

The Qatari flag carrier has created its own in-house app that will allow cabin crew to view passengers’ profiles, including privilege club members and oneworld members, as well as special service requests.

The Qatar Airways app will also allow crew members to obtain the latest up to date digital training materials.

The airline announced on December 12, 2023, that in the coming months it will roll out more than 15,000 mobile devices, enabling cabin crew to access real-time flight and customer updates.

The initiative will be launched in multiple phases with plans to integrate the digital service to Hamad International Airport (DOH) and overseas airports and lounges.

“We, at Qatar Airways, are incredibly excited to introduce a new phase in the airline’s digital transformation, especially one that will enhance our world-class onboard experience. As leaders in industry innovation and digital adoption, Qatar Airways excels in identifying and responding to emerging trends for the comfort and convenience of our passengers and this project is a defining step towards a more connected and insightful interaction between our customers and staff,” Mohammed Al Meer, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, said.
