Virgin Atlantic is set to enhance its leisure portfolio by increasing frequencies to popular sunseeker destinations, catering to the growing demand for winter getaways.
The airline, known for its commitment to providing diverse travel experiences, has recently launched seasonal flights to Dubai and the Maldives, both operating daily throughout the winter of 2024-25.
Record Flights to Barbados
Barbados remains a key focus in Virgin Atlantic’s Caribbean portfolio, and for the year 2024, it is set to see a record number of flights.
The airline plans to operate double daily services from London Heathrow throughout winter 2024, in addition to the existing four times a week services from Manchester Airport.
The newly announced frequencies are set to go on sale, providing travelers with more options for their winter travel plans.
Starting from October 27, Barbados will operate double daily flights. Daily services to Dubai will resume on October 26, 2024, followed by daily flights to the Maldives starting on October 27, 2024.
Juha Jarvinen, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, expressed excitement about expanding the leisure portfolio, stating,
“Our recent route launches to Dubai and the Maldives have already proved exceptionally popular, and we’re pleased to offer more opportunities for our customers to reach these luxurious destinations in 2024 and 2025.”

Virgin Atlantic is set to serve a record number of Caribbean islands in 2024, offering direct services from London Heathrow to Antigua, The Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, St Lucia, St Vincent and The Grenadines, and Turks & Caicos.
The introduction of twice daily flights from Heathrow to Barbados, alongside the existing four times a week service from Manchester, solidifies Barbados as the airline’s most popular destination in the Caribbean.
Further Expansion to the US Network
In addition to the increased frequencies to sunny destinations, Virgin Atlantic has announced further expansion to its US network.
Next summer, the airline will offer a record number of flights between London and New York, with a seventh daily flight to JFK.
Together with its Joint Venture partner Delta, Virgin Atlantic will provide 10 daily services to the Big Apple, representing an 11% increase compared to summer 2023.
Virgin Atlantic is set to enhance its East Coast flying with a second daily flight to Boston. Complementing Delta’s daily service, Boston will now be served with three flights a day.
Passengers on flights to New York and Boston will experience travel on the airline’s newest aircraft, the A330-900neo, and A350-1000, increasing the number of Upper and Premium seats by 23%.
Upper-Class passengers have the opportunity to indulge in the innovative Retreat Suite on the A330-900neo, featuring two spacious exclusive suites at the front of the Upper Class cabin.
