ZIPAIR’s upcoming flights between Tokyo Narita and Vancouver will be the only low-cost option not only between the two cities but also between the two countries. That said, there are multiple daily flights between the two cities operated by full-service airlines already.
Oneworld member (and ZIPAIR’s parent company) JAL operates daily flights between Tokyo Narita and Vancouver using its 767-300ERs. Star Alliance member Air Canada operates daily flights between the two airports too. Right now it uses the 777-300ER on these flights.
Separately, another Star Alliance member – ANA – connects Tokyo Haneda Airport with Vancouver Airport daily using its 787-9s.
In addition to Vancouver, Air Canada also connects Tokyo Narita with Montreal four times a week and with Toronto three times a week. It also runs daily flights between Toronto and Tokyo Haneda. During the summer, there are also WestJet flights between Calgary and Tokyo Narita.
Air Canada is among the airlines already operating flights between the two countries.Summary
