Mandarin Airlines today took delivery of its first ATR 72-600 equipped with PW127XT engines, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Taiwanese regional air travel.

This milestone delivery follows the airline’s order of six ATR 72-600 at the Paris Air Show earlier this year, reinforcing its commitment to providing efficient and low-emission air transport solutions.

First Delivery

Mandarin Airlines has officially welcomed its first ATR 72-600 equipped with state-of-the-art PW127XT engines.

The delivery marks the physical commencement of the airline’s strategic order of six ATR 72-600 planes at the Paris Air Show earlier this year.

What sets this aircraft apart is the incorporation of PW127XT engines, promising a remarkable 20% reduction in maintenance costs and a minimum of 3% block fuel savings. These engines are rewriting the standards for fuel consumption, carbon emissions, and NOx emissions in regional aviation.

Aligning with Mandarin Airlines’ commitment to low-emission air travel, the ferry flight from the ATR delivery center in Toulouse to Taipei will feature a groundbreaking 30% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend in the engines.

It’s a noteworthy move toward sustainability, and these engines are already certified for up to 50% SAF operations, setting a new benchmark in responsible air travel.

Solidifying Market Presence

With the addition of these new ATR 72-600 planes, Mandarin Airlines cements its position as a key player in the Taiwanese market.

Operating from its main base at Taipei Songshan Airport, the airline provides crucial domestic connectivity to enchanting destinations like Kinmen, Magong, and Matsu.

Beyond the borders, Mandarin Airlines extends its reach with regional flights to various destinations across Asia and China.

Enhancing Connectivity and Capacity

Beyond operational enhancements, the new ATR 72-600 fleet brings additional capacity to existing routes.

This move is not just about strengthening services but also stimulating economic growth and promoting tourism within Taiwan. The airline’s commitment to convenience and efficiency promises unparalleled passenger experiences.
