Navigating Airline Issues. Are Solutions on the Horizon?Navigating Airline Issues: Are Solutions on the Horizon?

Navigating airline issues has been difficult post-pandemic, and the question is, “Are there solutions on the horizon?”

In my 67 years of spinning around the sun, I have never experienced anything like we did with the recent pandemic.

The world was shut down in various ways until we learned to protect ourselves from COVID-19, and we subsequently learned to live with it.

One of the industries that is still in recovery mode is the world’s airlines.

The airline industry came to a near-complete standstill. Pilots and employees were furloughed, and many of them left the industry.

Compounding the problem was a massive surge of “revenge travelers” flooding the travel industry with new bookings. Yet the airline industry was woefully unprepared for the historic upsurge in demand for overseas travel.

Consequently, as leisure travelers are painfully aware, we have been through hell.

Every plane is packed full, flight schedules constantly change, ticket prices are climbing fast, and we’ve never had so many frustrated travelers.

Imagine our horror when a client calls us from the airport informing us that their flights were canceled without notification to the client or our company. And even worse, this wasn’t a one-off situation; it was happening to thousands of travelers nationwide. What a mess!

Are Solutions on the Horizon?

While these issues are far from being resolved, there might be a little light at the end of the tunnel.

The Wall Street Journal informs us in this article that nearly 23,000 pilots have been hired in the last two years.

And while this hiring spree brings its own set of difficulties, it does bode well for the future of air travel.

So maybe, just maybe, we will begin to see the airline industry achieve a little normalcy. And, if I dare say, I’m looking forward to the day when most of our clients are happy with their flights overseas and back.

Airline Travel Tip

Until the problems are solved, we strongly recommend you have your airline’s App on your smartphone. Be sure to check your flights frequently each day before you’re scheduled to leave for your journey. If changes have been made, they will appear on the App.

And, if problems do arise after you’ve checked into the airport, it is generally pretty easy to make changes on the airline apps. And to make matters worse, after you’ve checked in with the airline, we are no help to you. The airlines are in charge of your booking.

Lastly, ensure you have the emergency phone numbers we give you before your journey are within easy reach. If you are armed with the airline’s App on your phone and the emergency phone numbers we provide, you will experience far less stress if unexpected flight changes occur.

Forewarned is forearmed.
