Navigating the Holidays with Bariatric-Friendly Intentions: A Guide to Proactive Planning

The holiday season brings joy, warmth, and the promise of delicious feasts, but for those on a bariatric journey, it can be CHALLENGING.

Not to worry my friends. The holidays can be full of the things that bring you joy and matter most to you. It just takes some planning ahead to name what those things are!

Bariatric holiday planning is important no matter what stage you are in the journey. And especially if you’re on a liquid diet during Christmas (rude).

Raise your hand if you can believe it!

This is why bariatric holiday planning is key. It allows you to create space in your December calendar so you can get back to you 5 Pillars of Bariatric Healthy Living – which you can learn more about here!

I created the 2023 Holiday Planner with that very thing in mind.

The first few pages of the free guide help you name what matters most to you during the season. When you plan and prioritize THOSE things it makes saying no to other things easier.

And yes. There is an art to saying no to things you feel obligated to, but don’t want to do (or eat). We’ll be talking about that in our next video!

Your holiday itinerary is yours

In the video I use the image of a planning a trip to New York City. With so many things to do, people will plan their trip with what matters most to them. Which means NYC trips are different person to person.

The holidays are full of options that you can do. But naming what matters to you allows you to create an itinerary that fits your values and priorities.

If you try to squeeze every single thing in your New York City trip, you’re likekly to exhaust yourself, spend more money and have a harder time enjoying it with all the rush.

Sound like the holidays much??

Bariatric holiday planning doesn’t have to be complicated. Start with your priorities, leave time and energy for caring for your water and food needs, and many other things become more manageable.
