Sweet tooth addicts, we’re going to take a brief pause and head over to my dad’s kitchen for a fabulous appetizer that I know you’re going to love. Folks, if you like salty, garlicky, dill, and cheesy, then you’re going to love his Garlic Trail mix.
This recipe is super easy to make and makes a large quantity of trail mix. My dad makes this every year at Christmas and it has become one of those memory maker recipes for the whole family. Even the kids love it!
Now that the holidays have passed, you may be looking for an excuse to make a snazzy appetizer and I’ve got the perfect event! THE SUPERBOWL! Move over chicken wings, you’ve got competition. Bring this to the party and I guarantee it will be the talk of the night.
This recipe calls for 3 types of crackers that are all found in the same grocery aisle (yay for not crawling all over the store looking for ingredients!), oil (which you probably already have on hand), 3 herbs/spices, and 2 packs of dressing. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? It is.
You will also need a LARGE pot for this recipe. I have two 20 quart stock pots or soup pots. It will come in handy when you’re mixing later on so if you don’t have one, get one here.

Garlic Trail Mix

Description
Perfect for parties or holidays gifts, this garlic trail mix is packed with flavor that will have everyone clearing out the bowl by the nights end.
Instructions
Pour all crackers into a large stock pot and mix well. Warm the rest of the ingredients in a sauce pan over low heat and stir well. Pour wet ingredients slowly over the dry ingredients stirring as you pour. Mix well.
Notes
*I use 2 pots because the oil mixture will settle to the bottom. Transferring the mixture back and forth between the two pots allows the wet ingredients to stay on the crackers, not the bottom of your pan.
