Why choose the Recteq Deck Boss 590?

Recteq started as a pellet grill with a heavy, solid build. Known for the bull horns on the lid and the heavy cooking chamber, this is a great option in the price range. It has some stainless steel construction, Wi-Fi, and plenty of cooking space.

Cons

Lightweight Construction

A few years back, Recteq introduced their first-ever pellet grill, which was commonly known as the Recteq (originally Rec-Tec Grills). That model has long been retired, and now they are producing a wide line of products, including this small and inexpensive pellet grill. Despite being a relatively new entrant in the market, Recteq has managed to become one of the top-selling pellet grill brands, thanks in large part to their successful marketing strategies.

The Recteq Deck Boss RT-590, sells for $899, which puts this pellet grill in the price range of the small Traeger 575. Value-wise, this Recteq is comparable to better-known brands available in most big box stores. While it is one of the smaller units on the market, it comfortably holds 4 racks of ribs or up to 24 burger patties.

More on the Recteq Deck Boss 590

The Recteq Deck Boss 590 is one of the better pellet grills in its price range. The design is reliable and performs as it should without all the bells and whistles. With this product, you have the convenience of monitoring and adjusting its Wi-Fi-enabled controller from anywhere. The temperature regulation is good, and what’s even better is that the temperature shown is the actual cooking temperature – something that’s not always the case with other pellet grills. The construction quality is decent, especially considering its reasonable price point.

In the range of pellet grills under $1,000, it has the capacity that most people are after. There should be no concern about buying this Recteq model. If you are looking for something bigger, I recommend the Recteq Flagship 1100 Pellet Grill.

Final Note

There is some confusion whether a pellet grill is a smoker or a grill. Traditionally, they are referred to as grills, when in truth, they are capable of both grilling and smoking. The Recteq Deck Boss 590 balances the two very well. Smoke production is great. But this grill can also hit temperatures up to 700° F, making it a good high-temperature grill for steak cooking and reverse-searing – truly the best of both worlds.

Recteq Deck Boss 590 Warranty

This limited warranty covers the RT-590 Wood Pellet Grill manufactured by recteq, LLC (recteq). The RT-590 carries a 4-year limited warranty from the date of purchase by the original owner against defects in material and workmanship when subjected to normal residential use. Limited warranty does not apply to paint or damage caused from corrosion.
