A Blackstone griddle already makes cooking breakfast incredibly easy. Cranking out Blackstone griddle pancakes for the entire family in less than fifteen minutes takes easy to a whole new level.
Today, I decided to up my pancake game and try the Bisquick Ultimate Pancake Recipe located on the back of the Bisquick box. This easy recipe claims to be their most perfect pancake recipe ever. If you have ever used Bisquick pancake recipes you know that using Bisquick mix is the best way to make delicious and fluffy pancakes.
At a glance, the difference between the basic pancake recipe and this ultimate recipe is the addition of sugar and vanilla extract. So… I thought we would fire up the Blackstone griddle and give these tasty pancakes a try.
Bisquick pancakes are an easy breakfast or simple meal that is honestly good any time of day. There have been many evenings when I crave breakfast for dinner. The Blackstone provides an easy way to grab some simple ingredients and create a delicious meal with ease. Check out my Breakfast on the Blackstone post for more Blackstone ideas.
If you’ve used Bisquick before to make pancakes or waffles, then you know these are some of the best pancakes you will eat. Bisquick pancakes are a special treat and one of my favorite things!
I also had a few slices of thick-cut bacon that would be tasty with these pancakes. I grabbed those to throw on the griddle and let the strips of bacon cook over to the side of the pancakes. This is one of the great benefits of cooking on the Blackstone… there is a lot of surface space for cooking depending on what size griddle you have. I do recommend any of the larger Blackstone sizes. They make cooking for friends and family incredibly quick and easy. If I had it to do over again I would get the 36? Blackstone with the lid.
Let’s get to cooking these pancakes. I have broken out all you will need, all the ingredients, and the complete step by instructions with a video for you to follow along with.
Items you will need for the Ultimate Bisquick Pancakes on the Blackstone:
Blackstone Griddle (in this case I use a 28?)Butter and/or vegetable oil (I use butter for these pancakes for the extra flavor but you can use vegetable or coconut oil)A mixing bowl to hold the batter while each batch is cooking.Pancake dispenser (If you have one but certainly not necessary)Measuring cup
Blackstone Griddle Pancakes Ingredients:
Bisquick Pancake Mixture1 cup of Milk2 eggsBaking PowderSugarVanilla extractVegetable oil
Blackstone Griddle Pancakes Instructions:
Pour 2 Cups of Bisquick batter mix into a medium-size mixing bowl or pitcher that holds at least 8 cups of liquid.Add 1 cup of milkAdd 2 eggsAdd 3 tablespoons of sugarAdd 2 teaspoons of baking powderAdd 2 tablespoons of vegetable oilAdd 1 tablespoon of vanilla extractUsing a mixer or whisk, mix until the lumps are gone.Preheat your Blackstone griddle temperature to a 350-degree surface temp. Use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature on the surface of the griddle. For best results coat cast iron griddle cooking surface with melted butter.Pour pancake batter into as many pancakes as you can fit on your griddle surface. If you do not have a pancake batter dispenser or pancake rings, you will want to pour enough pancake batter for each one to form the size of a small saucer. The pancakes will thin and flatten out on their own. (if you can make them perfect circles, even better but I’m not all that talented).Cook your pancakes on one side until bubbles start to appear and then flip. Depending on the thickness of your batter and the temperature of your griddle, this usually takes about 2 minutes per side.Once you have finished cooking the pancakes, place them on one of your plates or pans and keep them warm until the rest are all done.Serve with your favorite syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
My personal preference is plain pancakes with a little butter. If you like to experiment, you can take this recipe and add chocolate chips or make your version of blueberry pancakes.
Now let’s talk syrup. One of my favorite childhood memories is having breakfast at my grandmother’s house and she would make my sister and I pancakes. She would always use the white Karo syrup and heat it up in a pot of warm water on the stove. She would simply bring a pot of water to a near boil and put the bottle of Karo down in it. There was nothing better than warm Karo syrup over those homemade pancakes.
Today, I don’t often use Karo but instead have grown fond of Crown Maple Syrup out of New York’s Hudson Valley. It is truly delicious and I highly recommend giving it a try if you have never heard of it.
Another tip to share with you when it’s time to cut up your pancakes. Next time try using a pizza cutter. I find that cutting up pancakes and waffles with a pizza cutter is much easier and quicker than using a knife and fork. I don’t like to give my pancakes time to cool off. SO, enjoy them warm and cut ’em up quick!
As an added bonus, cleaning up is as easy as cooking. Wipe down your griddle with a thick cloth or paper towels. Wipe away any excess grease with a paper towel. Spread a nice thin coat of fresh vegetable oil to protect the Blackstone surface and be ready for your next cook!
