Through their social media channels, the Brasschaat Braves announced their first new signee for the 2024 season. Jackson Longhofer will return for another run with the thirteen-time Belgian champions.
Jacskon Longhofer has experience in several areas. Next to being a pitcher, he can be used as a utility player (mainly outfield). In Germany, he also managed a club from the 2. Bundesliga (second-tier league in Germany).
Next to four years of college baseball, Jackson played in the Ban Johnson Collegiate Summer Baseball League where he was named an All-Star for 3 years. In 2018, he was chosen as a starting pitcher for the All-Star game and a finalist for League Pitcher of the Year.
During the 2023 season in the Belgian Division 1, Jackson batted .275 (what do they mean with pitchers cant hit?). Even though he was hitting light (only one double), Jackson batted in twelve runs.
Jackson posted an 8-7 record in fifteen starts with a 2.26 ERA. In 107.2 innings, he had a K/BB ratio of 3.29 (115/35). Of the thirty-one runs he allowed, twenty-seven were earned.
On the defensive side, Jackson posted a .974 fielding percentage, committing only one error during the 2023 season.
