Keep calm and carry on, mates.
But I am in the middle of major changes. The backstory goes like this -
Last fall I launched Faraday Sports Marketing. An attempt to leverage my experience and relationships in sports into building websites and doing social media development and consultation. I built three websites before Amanda and I went to Ireland. When we got back from Ireland, sports just like...kinda stopped.
The domain has languished for the last year. Instead of letting the domain expire, I've decided to move this blog to that domain name and consolidate this blog and the upcoming (and hopefully growing) Comc page that will (again, hopefully) fund a personal collection rebuild.
The name Faraday has a very special place in my heart. My first local card shop (and really only local card shop) was a place in the Philly suburbs called Faraday Traders. The store was owned by the Greene family, and the Greenes, particularly Stan as well as their full time employee Moe, were among the first adults that I wasn't related to that treated me like an equal. They respected me and helped nurture my love of baseball and collecting. While the store was a business, it was also a great place to hang out. It didn't feel like a boiler room, and you weren't treated in accordance to your wallet. Faraday's left a truly indelible mark on me. One of my few recurring dreams involves me wandering into Morton, and finding that Faraday is open. I walk in and it is exactly how I remember it. Honest to god, I could draw the floor plan of that shop. I see Stan, and we just talk baseball like we just saw each other on my last allowance day.
Faraday was baseball cards for me, and I hope to bring that culture back and carry it into the future in a way that the would make the Greenes' proud.
So, please, if you could, update your bookmarks, make the jump and keep hanging out with me in what I'm hoping will be a very active 2021. The new website is: http://www.faradaysports.com.
It is a wordpress build, and if any of my blogging friends are interested in trying Wordpress or just jumping ship from Blogger, I would be more than happy to set-up a you.faradaysports.com (that you could point a domain name at if you choose). If you want a you@faradaysports.com email address, I can do that, too. I can hand out websites & email addresses like Oprah.
Matt & Billy K, I appreciate you killers, and I hope to see you drop by the new digs. Section 36, thanks for the Harpers over on Bunt.
