The Toronto Blue Jays are still trying to get over missing out on Shohei Ohtani.

It seemed like there was a time when the Blue Jays were favorites to land the two-way star.

But, Ohtani ultimately ended up choosing the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Missing out on Ohtani placed a sense of doom around the Blue Jays.

They were so close to a franchise-changing player and it all went away.

But, the Blue Jays still have a good roster and should be able to compete for a playoff spot next year.

One spot where they could have used an upgrade was in the outfield.

Cody Bellinger seemed like a possible fit, but that no longer is the case.

According to Ben Nicholson-Smith, the Blue Jays agreed to a one-year deal with Kevin Kiermaier.

Due to that, it seems Bellinger is no longer in their plans.

By agreeing to terms with Kevin Kiermaier on a 1-yr deal, the #BlueJays have an outfield of Kiermaier, George Springer & Daulton Varsho in place for 2024.

The Cody Bellinger possibility now looks like an awkward fit at best for Jays, as OF looks like less of a priority for them.

While Kiermaier is nowhere near the same offensive player as Bellinger, he is a great defensive player.

Also, he comes at a significantly lower cost than Bellinger.

The Blue Jays should be looking to add another impact bat.

It just seems like that bat is not going to be an outfielder.

The AL East is looking loaded for the 2024 season.

All five teams in the division have a shot at making the playoffs.

That is something you can rarely say in MLB.

It will be interesting to see what moves the Blue Jays make to help push them over the top.

There are still some very good free agents available and the Blue Jays should aggressively target them.
