The Toronto Blue Jays are trying to keep pace with the rest of their division.

If we look across the AL East we see some of the best teams in baseball.

The New York Yankees got much better with the addition of Juan Soto, while the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays have built a winning culture by drafting and developing many of their players.

Toronto was in on the Shohei Ohtani sweepstakes but came up just short of a franchise-changing player.

The Blue Jays are trying to pick up the pieces and add some impact players.

According to Mark Feinsand, the Blue Jays have agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa has a two-year, $15 million deal with the Blue Jays, per source. Deal is pending physical and includes $1 million in performance bonuses. @ByRobertMurray was on it.

This may not seem like a significant move but Kiner-Falefa can be a solid starter.

Last season, Kiner-Falefa played in 113 games and posted a batting average of .242.

Even though he struggled at the plate, he is a good defensive player and can play multiple positions.

Kiner-Falefa spent time at third base, shortstop, and outfield last year.

It will be interesting to see where the Blue Jays put him.

This move will not move the needle in the AL East, as the Blue Jays should still feel like they have plenty of work to do.

When it comes to impact players some of the players they should pursue are Blake Snell and Cody Bellinger.

Both can increase the upside of the Blue Jays and allow them to compete with some of the top teams in the league.

This signing is a good start for the Blue Jays but they have more work to do.
