The Toronto Blue Jays came to terms with outfielder Kevin Kiermaier this week.
They re-signed the former Gold and Platinum Glover to a one-year deal worth $10.5 million.
He might not be an offensive star, but the signing makes lots of sense.
Even at 33 years old, Kiermaier remains one of the best defensive center fielders in the game.
He is also a positive clubhouse presence.
He went to Twitter to express his feelings about returning to Toronto after his solid 2023.
Luckily for Jays fans, he is full of positive thoughts and feelings.

Blue Jays fans are happy to get him back, even if they probably would have preferred their team to bring in a better hitter by now (Shohei Ohtani and Cody Bellinger come to mind).
In baseball, there is more than just offense, though.
Defense is almost as important, and Kiermaier remains a magician out there.
While his offense is certainly not as good as his glove, he can also hold his own with the bat.
In 2023, he hit .265/.322/.419 with eight home runs, 14 stolen bases, and a .741 OPS.
It was his best offensive performance since 2017, back when he was with the Tampa Bay Rays.
He has some pop and speed, and with his excellent defense, he will help Jays’ pitchers prevent runs and, thus, win games.
