The Los Angeles Dodgers added two of the most highly coveted free agents this offseason, two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani and right-handed ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

The two have yet to play a game for Los Angeles but are already fan favorites. They are undeniably talented, and fans cannot wait to see them suit up for the team.

Not only are the fans excited, but their teammates are equally pumped to play alongside them. This includes Los Angeles’s veteran reliever, Blake Treinen.

Treinen appeared on “Loud Outs” on MLB Network Radio and spoke on what Ohtani will bring to the Dodgers.

“When he’s healthy and puts together a full season it’s like this guy’s giving you Cy Young caliber stuff. and then you know MVP caliber just as a hitter. So to have both of that in one player is just such a special talent to be able to have an opportunity to play with him.”

“He certainly got the ability to be the best player of all time.”

Everyone in the baseball world is familiar with Ohtani’s game, yet he continues to amaze those far and wide. The 29-year-old won’t pitch this season, but has the potential to take the mound for the next nine years of his contract. As Treinen stated, he’s as good as any hitter — and most pitchers — who have ever stepped on the mound.

The excitement for Yamamoto is also palpable. He is an unknown commodity, but the eye test tells us he has all the tools to be the next great pitcher in the league.

He has received praise from all around the league, and Treinen is among those who like what he sees from his new teammate.

“You look at what Yamamoto is able to do, and like just the size of him, it’s crazy, it’s very incredible talent. I’m excited to learn more about him.”

“I think we all got to see him a little bit in the Classic, along with some other talented arms over in Japan.”

These two new Dodgers give the team something to look forward to this coming season. Like others on the roster, Treinen can’t wait to get started on helping bring championships back to the city of Los Angeles.
