The most important thing to look for when gathering pieces for your shoot are styles that reflect who you are authentically.
There are some classics that I recommend wearing, like a bra and panty set, bodysuits, teddies and some others I’ll share with you before shoot day…
But I think it adds so much to your images to have unique items that hold meaning or convey an aspect of your personality.
So I put together my top 5 tips to help you gather inspiration for some unique wardrobe pieces to wear during your photoshoot!
Let’s dive right in!
#1 - Play around with layers…
When it comes to boudoir wardrobe, layers are your best friend!
They are especially wonderful for the beginning of your session as you warm up to the process and get comfy in the studio.
My favorite pieces to layer on top of a bra and panty set or bodysuit are lace robes, button-ups, sheet tops, and jackets.
The options for layering are endless!
#2 - Bring something personal…
Adding personal touches to your shoot like a jersey, your partners button-up, a veil, a sentimental jacket, etc add so much character and meaning to your photographs.
Plus… they make for a pretty hot gift for that special someone :)
If you have an idea for an outfit but are unsure of whether something will work photograph well or not, feel free to reach out and ask!

#3 - Get outside your comfort zone…
During shoot time, I’ll be right by your side coaching you to greeting the edge of your comfort zone and push through it as you feel comfortable.
This looks like talking you in and out of poses as well as experimenting with wardrobe pieces that may feel a little bit vulnerable at first.
Your comfort is always my top priority and sometimes we need that little nudge to challenge ourselves to reach new levels of confidence.
Many of my clients want to wear body jewelry or go nude for some of their images and I think that it’s so important to hold space for what you desire!
So bring that body jewelry (or borrow one of ours from the client closet) and don’t be afraid to take some layers off if you feel drawn to.
And remember, I am here to support you however you need!
#4 - Make the everyday sexy…
Whether you have your favorite cozy sweater or fitted dress, there is nothing more powerful than turning the everyday into something remarkable.
I can’t tell you how empowering it will be to feel like your most sexy self in the outfits you wear on the regular.
Because, you will undoubtedly be reminded of that side of yourself when you need it the most!
At the end of the day, that is what your boudoir shoot is all about…
#5 - Add a studio bonus set…
