Why Boudoir Photography?
I get asked this question A LOT…..not just my clients, but people who think they know me as this boring vanilla person, only to find out I have this whole closet of lingerie and I help women discover a different side of themselves for my job. It’s hard to put into words of “Why Boudoir” but the best way to describe it is: the same transformational power it has on my clients, it has done in my life too. For me, seeing my client’s come alive in front of the camera, cry at their viewing party, and step into their light after the experience has grown into my purpose so much more than simply “taking pictures.”

I truly believe that every woman is beautiful just the way she is and it has become my personal mission to show even the biggest of skeptics that they are indeed beautiful and worthy of self-love.
The Transformation
The magic that unfolds in our studio is the absolute highlight of my job. Picture this: a woman walks in, a bundle of nerves – hands trembling, voice shaky, and maybe a little quiet. But, lo and behold, as soon as she takes a seat for the hair and makeup, those telltale signs of nervousness start to fade away.

And then, the photo shoot starts! The first series of poses is like a warm-up, a teaser of the fabulousness to come. When I reveal the first batch on the camera screen, the usual reaction is an incredulous "OH MY GOD, is that really me? NO WAY!" As we progress through more series, laughter and smiles become the stars of the show. Suddenly, the transformation is in full swing, and our subject starts feeling all kinds of sexy. The sultry eyes make an appearance, and you can practically see the 'aha' moment.

By the time we reach the big reveal, we've become friends. We've bonded over an experience that'll be etched in their memory forever. Laughs are shared, and life stories exchanged, creating a camaraderie that's hard to forget.

The moment I unveil their portraits on the projector screen. Cue the jaw-drop! They're seeing themselves in a light they've never imagined. That's the enchantment of boudoir photography – a chance to reflect my vision, their partner's perception, and be their personal mirror. As they step out the door, grinning from ear to ear, they can't wait to share to all their friends about the incredible adventure. It's not just a photo session; it's a  confidence-boosting, jaw-dropping experience!
A Little Bit of My Story
From a pretty young age, I knew my life was going to look a bit different than other women. When I was 12, I underwent several operations that left me with large visible scars all over my body, and an even bigger internal scar…..I would never have children naturally. Growing up I hated my body for everything it took away from me and I hid my scars from everyone. I was that one high school girl wearing a one piece when everyone else was in their string bikinis, simply so I didn’t have to answer questions about my scars.

Fast forward to adulthood and through the transformational power of Boudoir, I have learned to embrace my scars and see them as a reminder of my survival. That I am strong and able to overcome anything. Through adoption, I have found the baby meant for me didn't have to come from my body. And there is no doubt in my mind, she was 1000% meant for me.
My Boudoir Shoot….Stepping into my Light
I had been shooting boudoir for about 5 years, before I ever worked up the courage to do a shoot of my own. I had the exact same excuses as all my clients, I wanted to loose weight, I was too busy to set aside time, and I was just plain nervous. One day I was scrolling TikTok and I saw another photographer and just knew she would make me feel comfortable. So I reached out and booked it before I could change my mind.

Stepping into my light and putting myself in my client’s shoes was one of the most powerful experiences I could have done. When I say I understand how my clients feel walking through that door, I mean it, because I was SO nervous and I knew just want to expect.

Looking back my album is one of my prized possessions, because I embraced myself exactly like I was, 190 pounds scars and all. I can’t think of a better legacy to leave my daughter than being happy with yourself just as you are.  Maybe one day when she was older she’d even APPRECIATE the photos where I wore my scars proudly.

For me, boudoir photography is a celebration of your body and who you truly are. I take pride in being able to help show women how to celebrate their bodies, their battles and their victories they’ve been through.
