I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Kim and being her boudoir photographer. Ms. Kim is such an incredible and inspirational woman that we had to share her story! We asked her a series of questions about her boudoir experience, here is what she shared. Enjoy this very inspirational story. Thank you, Ms. Kim.
~ What made you decide to book a boudoir session? ~
To know me is to know that I do not find myself sexy at all, in fact, it’s quite the opposite.

There is not a single day that I don’t struggle both mentally and physically, but I also make it a point not to let it define me.
The decision to do a boudoir was based on two things: First, my sister-in-law had just done one with Julia and was showing me her album that she gave to my brother. One word…STUNNING. Another word that came to mind was CLASSY. It really made my wheels turn. I am known in my family to give gifts for holidays or birthdays that no one would ever guess and I can tell you, my husband would NEVER guess that I would do something like this. So, I began the process with Brianna, and here we are.
The best decision I’ve made in a long time. I am still smiling.
~ How did you feel before your session? ~
Before my session, I was terrified. Once I booked the date, I could not stop thinking about how I was going to pull this off. I shake, bottom line. I’m uncomfortable in my Parkinson’s skin. I’ve NEVER modeled, and I do not wear lingerie (You should see my drawer now). I almost even canceled the session altogether.
However, I am not a quitter, never have been, never will be.
My husband is my world, treats me like a queen, and loves me with his entire being. He deserves this and I couldn’t wait to see his expression when he received this gift from me. Little did I know what it would do for me: Wow, transforming!
~ How do you feel now after having done your session and
receiving your photos? ~
“For the first time, in a long time – I feel beautiful, sexy, empowered, proud, stronger than ever before!”
Julia pulled something out of me during that photoshoot I did not know was in me and I feel forever changed and eternally grateful.
~ What was your favorite part of your boudoir experience? ~
I’m not sure how to narrow it down to my favorite part. From the very beginning of the session starting with Brianna and her excellent customer service skills. I mean she makes you feel comfortable right out of the gate. And then there is Lex who completely transforms you with her mad, talented skills of hair and make-up. She is FIRE. I LOVED trying on their closet of lingerie. Brianna knew what to pick and it was so easy to decide.
Then there is Julia… I can’t say enough about what Julia can bring out in you. She is a movement photographer and plays this music throughout the session that just transcends you into another world. In fact, I love the music so much that I downloaded her playlist from Spotify. All three women build you up and make you feel beautiful, sexy, erotic, classy, and safe while doing it.
~ Would you do another boudoir session in the future? ~
Most definitely. Hands down. 100%. I will absolutely do this again. I also encourage my close friends as well as other women to do so.
~ What advice do you have for any woman thinking about booking a shoot? ~
DO IT. I promise it is life-changing. I know that sounds dramatic but, that’s the only way I can describe it.
~ Is there anything else you would like to add? ~
I just want to thank Julia and her team from the bottom of my heart for this experience. Women need to build each other
up in this life and you gals do just that.
