It’s hard to believe that the World Beer Cup was just a month ago. We’re still dizzy from our Gold and Bronze medal wins for Midnight Hike and Snowburn at the largest beer competition in the world! Some of you have already had the chance to sip on a glass of Snowburn Wheatwine over the past few weeks, but we’ve been working day and night to re-release the real star of the show: Gold-medal-winning Midnight Hike, our beloved imperial chocolate porter! This weekend, we will be throwing a party to celebrate Midnight Hike in all of its chocolate-infused glory. The next chance to try this internationally renowned cacao-laden beer is this Saturday, June 10th at both of our Denver taprooms.
Midnight Hike was first conceived as the perfect combination of a robust, chocolatey porter and, well, a ridiculous amount of actual chocolate. Our mad-scientist brewers had the inspiration to produce an intense, roasty imperial porter unlike any other and finish with an irresponsible amount of cacao nibs. This porter has an imminently satisfying confection-like character and offers an explosive, chocolatey aroma thanks to nearly ten pounds of cacao per barrel along with a skosh of vanilla to round out the flavor. This is the perfect pairing with a nicely roasted marshmallow by the campfire on your next camping trip. Layers of vanilla and light caramel character reveal themselves throughout each sip of this charred mahogany-hued ale. This is truly a beer that will satisfy both the master chocolatier and beer fanatic alike.
The newest and greatest release of Midnight Hike comes in at 11.1% ABV and will be available at both taprooms in 375mL bottles and on tap while it lasts. And, in true River North Brewery style, stay tuned for the barrel aged Midnight Hike later in the summer!
