The University of Hawai’i basketball team will be spending Thanksgiving weekend in Palm Springs, Calif. The Rainbow Warriors are one of four teams invited to participate in the inaugural Acrisure Invitational – a two-day, four-team tournament scheduled for November 24 and 25 at Greater Palm Springs, Calif.
Hawai’i will face UT Rio Grande Valley in one of the opening day games. Arkansas State and San Diego will play in the other opening day game. The winners of those games will play for the championship on November 25, and the losers will play for third place.
The games will played in the Acrisure Arena, an 11,000-seat venue that normally hosts minor league hockey and music concerts.
Tickets for the Invitational are available online at acrisurearena.com and Ticketmaster.com, the official ticketing provider of Acrisure Arena.
The announcement of the Acrisure Invitational came on the same day that the Maui Jim Maui Invitational announced that it will play its 2023 tournament at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
The Maui Invitational will be played on November 20, 21 and 22. It will be played on the UH campus for the first time due to ongoing recovery efforts on Maui related to the August wildfires.
The complete 2023-24 UH basketball schedule has not been announced yet.
