The 2020-21 NCAA basketball season took place despite the COVID-19 crisis. The 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament ended with a nice win of the Baylor Bears who defeated the Gonzaga Bulldogs 86-70 in the championship game played at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN on 2021-04-05.

Also for your information, the USBWA All-America teams were voted on by members of the USBWA-U.S. Basketball Writers Association, which is comprised of around 1,000 sportswriters and sports journalists who cover college basketball for newspapers, magazines and websites (incl. Bert). It is always nice to pinpoint a few award recipients and players who might end up in Europe to play basketball professionally in a near future.

Take notice that Iowa's senior power forward/center Luka Garza has been named the winner of the Oscar Robertson Trophy as the national player of the year and Oklahoma State's point guard Cade Cunningham has earned the Wayman Tisdale Award as the nation's top freshman basd on voting by the USBWA.

UConn Huskies freshman Paige Bueckers has been named the winner of the 2020-21 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award as the national player of the year. Paige Bueckers and Iowa's Caitlin Clark have earned and shared (pretty unusual!) the 2020-21 Tamika Catchings Freshman Player of the Year Award based on voting by the USBWA.
